Alda - Passage (1. 7. 2015)

Jemand am 17. in Wiesbaden bei Alda am Start?

War ein an und für sich guter, für mich etwas awkwarder Abend. Aber das geht euch nix an. Sarkh waren okay. Ex-Hessaja, ziemlich kompetenter, dynamischer, breitwandiger, aber drückender scharzlicher Post Metal. So @Albi / @Daskeks -Musik halt. Doch, war ne gute Show.

As of this past weekend, we have begun tracking the songs that will comprise our new full-length album. Helping us manifest this vision is Jake Superchi of UADA, to whom we are immensely grateful for his dedication and skill. This will be our fourth full-length album, and it is presently titled "A Distant Fire". A physical release shall come this year through Eisenwald Records, hopefully in the Fall. Keep your eyes to the hills and your ears to the wind... more is coming!

Eisenwald is pleased to announce that after not releasing any new music for six years, Alda returns to the forefront of extreme metal music with their fourth full-length album 'A Distant Fire‘
Originating from the forested hills of western Washington State, Alda have crafted a distinct blend of Black Metal, Folk, and Post-rock for over twelve years, releasing three full-length albums between 2009 and 2015, playing selective live shows in North America and embarking on their first European Tour in 2018. Throughout their existence, Alda have maintained a stable lineup of the same four members, being Jace and Stephanie Bruton, Tim Brown, and Michael Korchonnoff. This stability has allowed the band to manage a singular focus in maintaining their established sound, while simultaneously developing and augmenting their music with each passing release.
On 'A Distant Fire', Alda demonstrates a keen sense for engaging
songwriting and a use of melody that is sure to enthrall listeners
familiar with their work as well as individuals who are new to their
sound. Thematically, the album tells a story about facing a dire and
uncertain future, of nights illuminated by distant blazes and days
obscured by ash and smoke. The songs fuse elements of the aforementioned genres with an ease that allows these songs to develop organically and presents listeners with an enticing sonic experience. The immersive qualities of the album are emphasized by the band's epic compositions, both in length and musical development throughout the songs.
Written between 2017 and 2019, 'A Distant Fire' was recorded and
engineered during 2020 by Jake Superchi (UADA, Ceremonial Castings (official)), who provides these songs with an appropriately warm and accessible production job that compliments the band's music and compositions admirably. Finally, mastering was done by the renowned Mell Dettmer at Studio Soli (Sunn O))), Wolves in the Throne Room, Earth, Elder).
The cover and whole insert artwork was painted by Second Nature Artwork - Craig Strother
Overall, A Distant Fire represents a noticeable growth and
transformation in Alda's songwriting and musical performance, while staying true to the spirit and intentions that have informed their music during their fourteen years as a band.
A Distant Fire will see its release in early October 2021 Ltd.DigiCD, Tape, and Digital/Stream formats, with a
vinyl edition to follow at a later point due to plant delays and long turnarounds.

1.First Light (03:18)
2.Stonebreaker (08:28)
3.Drawn Astray (10:19)
4.Forlorn Peaks (09:40)

Habs auch vorhin gesehen. In den Song hör ich morgen rein aber der wird eh gefallen. Und das Artwork find ich klasse, dafür allein würd ich es schon fast kaufen.
