Der Michael-Palin-Beitrag und "The Wolf" sind für mich das Beste an einem insgesamt grandios guten Album.

Skip-Taste für Monty Python... tzzz...

Nur im Auto, und auch nur um wieder schneller Motörhead zu hören.

Ungeachtet der Tatsache das alle Songs geil sind muss ich noch erwähnen, dass "dogs" und "all for you" der Platte zum Ende nochmal den ganz großen Glanz verleihen.

Auf die Platte bin ich auch erst sehr, sehr spät aufmerksam geworden und heute gehört sich auch mit zu meinen liebsten Motörhead Alben!

Die Rock"n"Roll läuft bei mir grad im Auto, und ich merke immer wieder dass die zu meinen liebsten und meist gehörten Motörhead Alben zählt. Alles geile Songs, auch wenn Michael Palins Beitrag mittlerweile zumindest im Auto der Skip Taste zum Opfer fällt.

Witzig, bis eben wusste ich gar nichts von dem Michael-Palin-Intro - ich habe nur die Original-LP, da ist das gar nicht drauf...
Wie hier schon mal geschrieben, mag ich das Album auch sehr gerne!

Wikipedia sagt dazu: "The spoken word "Blessing" by Michael Palin is listed on some version as track 5 on side A (the original vinyl and cassette release). On the original CD version it had its own track selection slot (making it a 10-track CD). Otherwise it was at the end of track 4 ("Stone Deaf in the U.S.A.") as a hidden track or at the beginning of track 5 ("The Wolf"). On both of these last two versions it was uncredited on the cover."

Und bei Genius habe ich noch die Anekdote dazu gefunden:

"This hidden ‘song’ is just Monty Python member Michael Palin reciting a prayer for the band of Motörhead in a very Monty Python-esque way.

Motörhead was recording the album in Redwood studios in London, which Palin co-owned. One of the studio engineers who had worked on the Monty Python records played the band some of the outtakes from those days. Palin was subsequently asked to come down and do a recitation for the album and showed up dressed in a 1940s cricketer outfit — V-necked sweater, his hair all brushed to one side. Lemmy, a big Monty Python, then asked him if he remembered the speech from the film The Meaning of Life, which began with the words Oh Lord. Palin replied saying “Ah! Give me some cathedral!” and recorded this speech."

Laut den Einträgen bei musik-sammler.de scheint es einige LP-Versionen zu geben, bei denen (nach den Songlängen zu urteilen) Der Michael-Palin-Part entweder an "Stone Deaf In the U.S.A." drangehängt wurde, oder vor "The Wolf" kommt. Allerdings weiß ich natürlich nicht, ob die Ersteller da vielleicht einfach die Songlängen von einem CD-Eintrag übernommen haben.
Auf meiner LP (wohl die niederländische Erstauflage) gibt es den Teil jedenfalls nicht, weder auf der A-Seite, noch auf der B-Seite.

Ich hatte kurz vor Weihnachten in meiner Whisky und Metal Gruppe ein Foto von der Lemmy Büste gepostet und scherzhaft darauf hingewiesen, dass ich da noch eine Idee für eine Geschenk für mich hätte.
Und was haben diese tollen Leute gemacht ? Haben alle zusammengelegt und mir diese dann nun zu meinem Geburtstag geschenkt.

Wobei Heilbronn ja nicht ganz richtig ist. Das Konzert war damals im Rahmen des Christmas Metal Meetings in Bad Rappenau...meiner Heimatstadt...
In der Eishalle in Heilbronn haben die aber ein paar Jahre später auch gespielt...
