Super Album. Zum Teil sehr melancholisch ("Thunderbirds Whispering Wind"), sticht die Band auch durch den Gesang unter den Retro-Truppen raus. Wer auf Bands wie Vanderbuyst, Black Trip, Dead Lord ect. steht, braucht das Teil!

Nachdem das Debüt-Album immer noch eine meine Lieblingsplatten überhaupt ist, bin ich schon mal sehr gespannt auf die Neue.
Nicht nur das die Jungs nämlich bald mit SPELL zusammen auf Europa-Tour sind, nein - am 02.März kommt via The Sign Records (geiles Label by the way...) auch endlich das neue Album!!

Die Jungs arbeiten an ihrem dritten Longplayer.
Das Debut ist immer noch eins meiner Alltime Favourit Alben.

Ich erhoffe mir Großes. Das zweite Album fand ich dann leider eher langweilig... mal schauen, aber die Hoffnung stirbt zuletzt

Auch wenn das Debüt wohl für immer unerreichbar bleiben wird, freu ich mich auf das kommende Album.

Na dann bin ich auf das dritte Album gespannt. Es bereitet mir immer wieder Kopfzerbrechen, wieso das zweite Album so viel schlechter ist als das erste. Ich würde es echt gerne wissen/verstehen.

Das Debüt war SO ein dermaßener Oberkracher
Demon, Thunderbirds whispering in the wind, Filled up with darkness, Times are changing...

Das Zweitwerk war dann entäuschend. Hoffe nun schwer auf das dritte Album. Wie du sagst, die Vorabsongs gehen wieder in die richtige Richtung!

Heute ist es so weit, Album numero tre ist raus
Gefällt mir auf Anhieb besser als das zweite Album. Ob es mit dem Debut aufnehmen kann vermag ich (noch) nicht zu sagen. Erster Durchlauf fertig und ich will es gleich nochmal hören, gutes Zeichen

”Last Days On Earth” is the third studio album by Swedish Rock band Svartanatt, and follows their 2016 self-titled debut as well as their 2018 sophomore full-length ”Starry Eagle Eyes”. Recorded in Svenska Grammofonstudion, Last Days On Earth offers 11 new cuts of hard hitting retro rock. While continuing building on Svartanatt’s solid foundation of ’60s and ’70s influenced rock, the album showcases even more varied and captivating soundscapes than before, where melodic organ and guitar arrangements interplay with a tight, rock solid rhythm section, all topped with songwriter Jani’s unique, expressive vocals. The band comments:

"It’s a lot of doom and gloom on this album, at least in the lyrics. Faith in humanity, society and the own existence is nothing but a memory. Buried beneath a monument saying “your days are numbered, welcome to hell”. But one man’s loss is another one’s gain. What will
rise from the ashes?

There has been no shortage of creativity and fun when recording this album. There’s a lot of classic Svartanatt but also an expansion of the sound. On the albums last track, Where I Belong, Lars Heaster (Daniels dad) has put down an epic trumpet that rides the album into the sunset. Magical, if we may say so.”
”Last Days On Earth” was recorded by Martin Borgh, who also mixed the album. Mastered by Hans Olsson Brookes (Bombus, Spiders, Graveyard, Blues Pills). The album will be available on all streaming platforms, and pressed on vinyl.

edit: man sollte auf jeden Fall mit Orgel und frühen 70er-Hardrock, Uriah Heep, Deep Purple, usw... was anfangen können. Ich finde das Album aber trotzdem eigenständig und auch sehr abwechslungsreich und gleichzeitig "stimmig". Es könnte sich zu einer kleinen Perle entwickeln - bin vorsichtig begeistert Neben Tanith mausern sich Svartanatt gerade zu meinen neuen heavy rock Lieblingen hoch.
