Bestia Arcana stammen aus dem Umfeld von Nightbringer, wie auch Akhlys. Deren inzwischen 5 Jahre altes Debüt kann man sich ja mal anhören ...

Hmmm......wirkt irgendwie recht beliebig. Hoffentlich überzeugen die restlichen Songs mehr. Und ich vermisse die hölzerne Produktion von Quietly Undramatically!

Endlich!!! Das Demo von 2012 fand ich schon hammers... die EP ist super geworden!

INVICTUS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present CONSUMMATION's debut EP, Ritual Severance. CONSUMMATION are an Australian black/death metal band based in Brisbane and who also share members with Impetuous Ritual. In 2012, they released a self-titled debut demo, which showed a startlingly accomplished aesthetic for an otherwise brand-new band. Patiently lying in wait, perfecting their craft in the shadows, CONSUMMATION are now prepared to make a grand, garish strike with Ritual Severance.

Encompassing two tracks in 21 minutes, Ritual Severance is a gibbering maw of intensity and tension. The songwriting's serpentine and slipstreaming, the execution's crazed and commanding, the recording's raw yet rounded: CONSUMMATION take viscous bestiality and give it leathery dragon-wings of atmosphere. And yet, for all the lurking menace across Ritual Severance, there's a striking amount of nuance in kind, the quintet keenly knowing when to scale back the attack and let the sinister energies simmer. As such, these two tracks feel more focused and shorter than their fairly epic lengths; not surprisingly, their respective titles - "The Weightless Grip of Fire" and "Blighted Ovum" - vividly illustrate the music's central contents.

Ich war letzte Jahr total geflasht von der EP von Gjendod, hatte den Namen noch nie gehört. Jetzt gibt es den ersten Song vom Debutalbum, das nächstes Jahr auf Hellthrasher erscheinen wird und ich finds schon wieder super geil.

Insgesamt sind sie dem modernen norwegischem Black Metal treu geblieben. Auszeichnen tun die sich meiner Meinung nach vor allem durch tolle Gitarren und krasse Vocals. Hört mal rein, die EP gibts für NYP auf ihrem Bandcamp.

SAQRA'S CULT Debütalbum kommt im Januar via Amor Fati. Marius brachte letztes Jahr auch das etwas untergegangene Demotape raus. Auch ich hätte das wo möglich übersehen, hätte ich nicht letztens eine Stapel ungehörte, geschenkte Tapes durchwühlt und mich erinnert, dass da ein Release von denen ansteht. Angehört, angetan. Crossovert sich durch einige Black-Metal-Waves und den zeitgenössischen gruftigen Death Metal. Das zum Teil eigenwillig-schräge Gitarrenspiel find ich besonders geil, die kreischigen Vocals sind mir manchmal zu hysterisch. Bin dennoch tierisch gespannt auf das Album. Meine kleine Endjahresentdeckung.
