Weiter so....:top:

DVP 158 HEXECUTOR – Beyond Any Human Conception of Knowledge… LP/CD/MC

Hexecutor-LP-1-269x300.jpg
Hexecutor-CD-1-300x281.jpg
Hexecutor-MC-249x300.jpg

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present HEXECUTOR’s highly anticipated second album, Beyond Any Human Conception of Knowledge, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

It’s been four long years since HEXECUTOR released their shockingly masterful debut album, Poison, Lust and Damnation. The “shock” wasn’t so much that the French quartet came out of nowhere – indeed, they’d made waves in the underground with their debut demo in 2012 and especially the Hangmen of Roazhon EP two years later (which DYING VICTIMS reissued on 12” vinyl in 2018, to meet demand) – but rather that there existed a band putting an undeniably authentic yet also unique twist on classic mid-‘80s speed metal and thrash. HEXECUTOR weren’t trying to reinvent language; they were simply trying to expand the lexicon a bit, and they did so with astonishing aplomb on Poison, Lust and Damnation.

But, now rested (and wild!), HEXECUTOR return with an even bolder record in their long-awaited second album, Beyond Any Human Conception of Knowledge. If its no-less-considerable predecessor pushed traditional tropes, Beyond Any Human Conception of Knowledge topples them altogether! It’s all recognizably HEXECUTOR – and immediately, charismatically so – but swirling in their cantankerous cauldron of old Slayer, Razor, Destruction, Sepultura, and Merciless is a passion for classic hard rock and heavy metal and coated in the feeling of Bathory’s Blood Fire Death and Manowar’s Into Glory Ride. Thus, this second strike is a much more EPIC one, all without striving to be “epic” in the pejorative sense. It’s all twisted with grace and gnarliness, in equal measure, as one will find filtered traces of Thin Lizzy, Uriah Heep, Blue Öyster Cult, UFO, and even the Eagles as prominently as those of Deströyer 666, Absu, Gospel of the Horns, and Vomitor. HEXECUTOR even touch upon just-as-classic black metal and death metal mainstays as Morbid Angel, Sweden’s Dawn, and early Necrophobic, Darkthrone, Gorgoroth, and Satyricon…but again, simply hearing Beyond Any Human Conception of Knowledge is witnessing the band’s widescreen yet still-wild ways. Slowing down doesn’t mean wimping out, and diversity can be a wondrous thing when handled with care and class. In a word, magickal!

Then again, a recording as momentous Beyond Any Human Conception of Knowledge is underpinned by a deep and thoughtful thematic, relating directly to HEXECUTOR’s homeland. As heavy metal is a great medium to relate legends and epic stories, HEXECUTOR chose to glorify the beauty of their folklore with a concept album based exclusively on myths, factual history, and fantastic tales kept alive by the oral tradition and collected by authors, folklorists, and poets such as Anatole Le Braz, Paul Sébillot, or François Cadic.

It bears repeating that Beyond Any Human Conception of Knowledge is a momentous event, and it’s suitably graced with amazing artwork courtesy of Skelethal’s Jon Whiplash. HEXECUTOR here have delivered a modern classic!

DVP 161 BLACKEVIL – Forever Baptised in Eternal Fire LP/CD

Blackevil-LP-2-242x300.jpg
Blackevil-LP-1-254x300.jpg
Blackevil-CD-300x300.jpg

DYING VICTIMS is proud to present BLACKEVIL’s highly anticipated second album, Forever Baptised in Eternal Fire, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

Hailing from Bavaria, BLACKEVIL have been forging fire since 2013. Their first demo, appropriately titled Hail the Cult, emerged from the darkness in 2015, auspiciously revealing a razor-sharp and endlessly salacious style of blackthrash. Come BLACKEVIL’s debut album, 2017’s The Ceremonial Fire, the power-trio up-ratcheted everything: more speed, more hooks, more black, more evil, more of MORE! Diehards took notice, thankfully, and the band furthered the momentum the next year with a split LP with Italy’s esteemed Witchunter. Still, the best was yet to come…

At last, BLACKEVIL’s breakout moment arrives with their long-awaited second album, Forever Baptised in Eternal Fire. Of course, ones for astute titles, BLACKEVIL nevertheless lay it all on the line with Forever Baptised in Eternal Fire, bringing together their not-inconsiderable past with an envious present and doubtlessly damned future! Naturally, they’d never betray their roots – whether it’s the German thrash Big Three of Sodom, Kreator, and Destruction or evil speed metal legends like Razor, Evil Angel, OZ, and Exciter, and plenty of other classic points in between – but the way the trio assimilate them into something that’s so uniquely their own and yet so uniquely and purely HEAVY METAL, we can only guess there’s some black magick at play. Put another way, Forever Baptised in Eternal Fire is fucking EPIC from beginning to end, but it never sounds like it’s straining to sound “epic.” Likewise, one could charitably qualify BLACKEVIL here as transcending blackthrash altogether, so creative is this idiosyncratic iteration of the idiom…but even then, that’s selling both band and record short.

All we can say is simply step into this eternal fire, feel the witching-metal leads course through your veins, the throttling yet tastefully nuanced drums guide your quest, and allow bassist Abyss’ commanding and increasingly charismatic vocals to lead the charge; try to resist ALL THAT, and try remaining metal to the bone. Won’t work! Suitably for such a classic-in-the-making, Forever Baptised in Eternal Fire is baptized with (un)godly cover art by the masterful Paolo Girardi. Make no mistake: BLACKEVIL have ARRIVED!

DVP 162 EARLY MOODS – Spellbound MLP/MCD

Early-Moods-LP-2-245x300.jpg
Early-Moods-LP-1-240x300.jpg
Early-Moods-CD-300x300.jpg

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present EARLY MOODS’ striking debut mini-album, Spellbound, on CD and 12” vinyl formats.

Hailing from Los Angeles, EARLY MOODS formed in 2015 as an amalgamation of various experienced acts such as Rude, (ex-)Skeletal Remains, Fortress (California) and Nightmare (USA). From the beginning, the goal was simple yet sturdy: to pay homage to such classic bands as Candlemass, Witchfinder General, Pentagram, Trouble, and the almighty Black Sabbath. However, it wasn’t until 2020 when the band’s first recording appeared, originally self-released digitally on April 20th.

Bearing the evocative title Spellbound, form surely meets content here, as EARLY MOODS entrance the listener with molten grooves and bewitching atmosphere; this is tried-and-true HEAVY DOOM that doesn’t step past 1980! Naturally, traces of the aforementioned influences are tastefully spread across the 27-minute record, but each of its five component songs convey an alluring, addicting identity that’s entirely their own. Not for nothing are EARLY MOODS monikered as such, for their aeons-old aura and doomed-out swagger bespeaks an impossibly eldritch aspect – precisely, the kind’s perfect for proto-doom and its eventual genesis into traditional doom.

Darkly colored with sulfurous leads that’ll ruin your day, EARLY MOODS dare you to gaze into their crystal ball and become Spellbound!

DVP 169 TOXIKULL – Cursed and Punished LP

MOMR19089_TOXIKULL-Cursed-and-Punished-300x300.jpg

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present TOXIKULL’s stellar second album, Cursed and Punished, on vinyl LP format. Licenced from Metal on Metal Records.

Hailing from Portugal, TOXIKULL burst onto the scene fully formed in 2016 with their debut album, Black Sheep. Indeed black sheep amongst the modern metal landscape, the quartet unleashed a fury of classy-yet-OTT speed metal pumped full of thrash overdrive – a sound that, while classically rooted, didn’t conveniently slot itself into one category. Leading the charge were the authoritative vocals of ex-Midnight Priest frontman Lex Thunder, here also playing guitar. But Thunder’s banshee cries weren’t the only arsenal: his bandmates shredded with the best of ‘em, putting considerable chops to good use with cruising-yet-crunchy ease.

A couple EPs followed in 2018, but TOXIKULL really hit a fever pitch with their second album, 2019’s Cursed and Punished. Everything killer about their debut album was magnified tenfold, everyone going for glory and for the throat, delivering unbridled METAL MAYHEM that was simply impossible not to get swept up in! Each element here positively bristled with electricity and urgency – guitars razor-sharp but dynamic, the leads utterly blistering but with also with memorability, the rhythm section pumping like a locomotive on the way to Hell, and of course, Thunder’s vocals reaching new heights of grandeur and…well, height – and all of them were coated in a gleaming production job, courtesy of Miguel Tereso from Demigod Recordings, that sacrificed not ounce of power…in fact, quite the opposite! Through it all, the songwriting was nothing short of stunning; each of these 10 songs could be an anthem itself, and TOXIKULL banged ‘em out in a cool ‘n’ compact 34 minutes, making the listener beg for more.

Looking for a modern answer to old Helstar, Liege Lord, and Jag Panzer but with speed and power to spare? Look no further than TOXIKULL’s Cursed and Punished, at last unleashed on the most perfect format for classic metal: VINYL!

DVP170-Evoke-Seeds-of-Death-193x300.jpg

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present Evoke’s raging debut album, Seeds of Death, on music cassette format.

After a demo and rehearsal tape in 2016 the band barricaded into their bunker, wrote songs and let them ripe over 4 long years until 2020 has finally seen their first album Seeds of Death being released. The classic three piece has produced 7 tunes with a playing time of just over half an hour – which fits perfectly for this black thrash assault on your ears. Who could take it any longer?! And with (lLive) members being shared with Black Viper, Enter Obscurity and Deathhammer, you get an idea that Evoke are at the forefront of evil metal from Norway.

MC comes with sticker and button.

DVP 153 COLTRE – Under the Influence LP 2nd Press

ColtreFrontCoverOriginal-small-1-300x300.jpg

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to announce the 2nd run of COLTRE’s striking debut, Under the Influence, on 12” vinyl format. New color and patch for the special edition, black edition remains the same.

COLTRE was forged in London, England by guitarists Daniel Sweed and Marco Stamigna in May 2019. They met at a Midnight concert and decided to form a band inspired by the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. They started rehearsing, and by the beginning of 2020 had recorded the four-song EP Under the Influence, to be released in time for their first gig, supporting Witchtower at Boston Music Rooms.

The band self-released Under the Influence on CD and digital formats, but now DYING VICTIMS steps forward to champion COLTRE’s cause and release it as a five-song work, featuring an exclusive new track. Rough and rustic but brimming with an authentically ancient fire, Under the Influence is moody metallic majesty: dark ‘n’ mysterious riffs, portentously galloping rhythms, epic-yet-direct compositions, and the sage-like pipes of Stagmina atop it all. One could be mistaken for thinking COLTRE were some unearthed relic from the original NWOBHM movement, so hot-rockin’ is their swords-aloft surge, evoking high fantasy and urban grit in equal measure, and crucially retaining that pivotal rock ‘n’ roll thrust Thin Lizzy largely gifted to that movement.

But COLTRE are their own men, and as reverential as they are of these enduring paradigms, Under the Influence is undoubtedly its own creation, its own wild world. You are hereby compelled to go under THEIR influence!

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present MEGATON SWORD’s highly anticipated debut album, Blood Hails Steel – Steel Hails Fire, on CD, cassette and vinyl LP formats.

It was but November of last year when MEGATON SWORD unleashed their glorious debut EP, Niralet, via DYING VICTIMS. Arriving fully formed, virtually without warning – no prior demo recordings existed, at least not publicly – this Swiss quartet evinced an ages-old sound that was wise (and wizened) well beyond their young years. Already, MEGATON SWORD knew the mystery of steel…and wielded it with a startling confidence. And no one knew just how high they could fly, only that they were just getting started.

Now, with the arrival of their imminent debut album, Blood Hails Steel – Steel Hails Fire, MEGATON SWORD are marching into the halls of greatness, with no one to stop them. Retaining the same, well-named lineup – vocalist Uzzy Unchained, guitarist Chris the Axe, bassist Simon the Sorcerer, and drummer Dan Thundersteel – MEGATON SWORD maximize the strengths of the EP and then some, revealing new twists to that mystery of steel whilst retaining the charisma and crunch that endeared them to the true-metal underground the first time around. Indeed, Blood Hails Steel – Steel Hails Fire is aptly titled, almost ridiculously so: this is true-as-steel HEAVY METAL drunk on high fantasy and the enduring themes of conquest and valor, triumph and tragedy, but rendered in a form even bloodier and possessing more bravado. It’s also more dynamic, maximizing drama between notes and from one passage to the next, each movement a narrative crucial to their conquest. Those notes are suitably wrapped in a production that’s powerful in its clarity and pure in its intention, revealing MEGATON SWORD as both craftsmen and warriors, and never sacrificing grit on the altar of perfection (or vice versa).

Above all, Blood Hails Steel – Steel Hails Fire is comprised of legitimately awesome SONGS that stick in your head immediately, even when traveling upon a winding, suitably epic path. Each one of the eight contained herein feel far vaster than their succinct track times suggest; credit is thus due to MEGATON SWORD’s firing-on-all-cylinders songwriting. Or perhaps it’s the patient pacing they employ, which they first revealed on Niralet, allowing each bellow of bathos and push of pathos to ring out and as true as possible; perhaps it’s the passion and machismo dripping from every element, every drop of blood, sweat, and tears tangible and intense; or once again, perhaps it’s the band simultaneously sounding timeless and fresh, safely evading both rote “retro” throwback and over-modernity in kind, and doing it more effortlessly than ever. Either way, MEGATON SWORD have delivered an album both bold in its ambition yet urgent in its delivery – truly, the thing that classic debut LPs are made of.

With Niralet, we made references to ’80s Manowar, Warlord, and Manilla Road as well as early Running Wild and Nasty Savage, but with Blood Hails Steel – Steel Hails Fire, MEGATON SWORD truly sound like no one but themselves: the growth is palpable, but not once overextended. And graced again with unforgettable cover art courtesy of Adam Burke, one of the best debut albums of the year is ready to be wielded!

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present TIME RIFT’s debut album Eternal Rock on CD and vinyl LP format.

If you keep your hair long, your leather tight, and your denim dirty, TIME RIFT have the heavy-metal-rock-and-roll you’re looking for. Formed on the damp streets of Portland, Oregon, TIME RIFT have been cranking out riffs to rev your Camaro to since 2014. With their first EP release, Cold Future, TIME RIFT established themselves as a band whose sound has one foot firmly placed in 1974 hard rock.

Fast forward to 2020 to their full length debut Eternal Rock – an 8-track-affair – and their other foot is suddenly kicking your ass with some NWOBHM bangers. A power trio with an emphasis on power, TIME RIFT features vocalist and bassist Levi Campbell handling the low end and high wails, Justin Kaye on the ripping licks, and Terrica Jennings holding it all together on drums.

If TIME RIFT shows the modern world of rock and roll anything, it’s that time is irrelevant, and rock is eternal.

DVP R-001 Mad Butcher – Metal Lightning Attack LP

Mad-Butcher-LP-special-866x1024-1-254x300.jpg

Mad-Butcher-LP-regular-865x1024-1-253x300.jpg

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present the first release of its newly founded reissue sub-label, RELICS FROM THE CRYPT: a LONG-overdue of MAD BUTCHER’s cult-classic debut album, Metal Lightning Attack, on vinyl LP format.

While it would seem that MAD BUTCHER were inspired by Germany’s legendary Destruction, the truth is rather the other way around: MAD BUTCHER predated Destruction by a number of years, and began even earlier than Teutonic metal mainstays Accept, Steeler, Grave Digger, and Living Death. As such, they were one of the first real metal bands in Germany to pick up sonic influence from the burgeoning NWOBHM movement and the early US metal scene. And what they delivered with their ragged ‘n’ righteous debut album, 1985’s Metal Lightning Attack, stands immortal to this day even though it’s largely remained a cult curio among diehard metal collectors.

Begun in name in 1980, by band accounts, MAD BUTCHER arrived at their unforgettable moniker from a trip vocalist/bassist Harry Elbracht took to New York City and seeing a butcher’s shop sign lit up in big neon. Hailing from Essen, in the working-class Ruhr area, MAD BUTCHER were relentless scene members, travelling to all heavy metal festivals and shows across Europe and England. Curiously, they forewent doing a demo and subsequently became prolific on the live front, playing across Germany with the likes of Warlock, Sodom, Helloween, Sinner, Living Death, and the aforementioned Grave Digger and Steeler; in the United States, they played with Slayer, Exodus, Brocas Helm, and Lääz Rockit. Slayer even wanted MAD BUTCHER to open for them on their European Hell Awaits tour, but the band’s management refused it, thus nixing the band’s big break.

Nevertheless, MAD BUTCHER were well-rehearsed after all that live activity and were always prepared to go into the recording studio, but time and means always became an issue. When they were finally ready to go into the studio, in 1984, they lost their vocalist and Harry had to take the mic reins; they also had to write eight new songs, in a chaotic rush, to complete a full-length album. Exacerbating this stream of bad luck, “the technical side of the recording became a disaster,” says Harry, and the record-pressing plant damaged the master tapes to Metal Lightning Attack, resulting in a subpar sound. Still, there’s no discounting the raw energy and excitement across the record, which DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is honored to unleash in its ultimate edition.

Originally released in 1985 by the short-lived Earthshaker Records who also released Living Death’s first two albums – MAD BUTCHER’s Metal Lightning Attack is a crystallized snapshot of the times. In one sense, you could say the album was “behind the times” given that the band’s subgenre-defiant sound spanned ALL heavy metal of the day – from the aforementioned NWOBHM and early ‘80s US sound, before speed metal and then thrash splintered forth from that wider stylistic pool – but in another, more accurate sense, MAD BUTCHER here kicked out a largely speed metal-oriented sound that thankfully retained the most important aspect, the METAL, and thus retained a more timeless aspect. Guitars are never overdriven, just existing within that sweet netherworld between class and crunch, between rock ‘n’ roll and a harder place; drums bang along steadily whether the tempo’s fast (often) or slower, less often but deliciously hot-rockin’ when they do; and what Harry may’ve lacked in conventional technical prowess, his vocals more than make up for it in sheer attitude and aplomb. So, across the album’s 10 songs in 38 minutes, MAD BUTCHER indeed offer up a “lightning metal attack” that brings it from all corners, from speedy surge to down-tempo strut, and always keeping it wild ‘n’ loose whatever attack they chose. That balance, unselfconscious as it is – between the old tradition and the new traditions then being formed, of just being HEAVY METAL above all – has endeared Metal Lightning Attack to successive generations to this day, and the record remains an ever-relevant relic of times past and times yet to be forged.

And while MAD BUTCHER would disband in 1990, after two officially released albums and a third posthumously released in 2020, their legendry among the true-metal faithful was forever etched with Metal Lightning Attack. Now, for posterity, DYING VICTIMS will bring this lightning to the nations once again, using a powerful remaster by Patrick Engel at Temple of Disharmony, on the format it so deserves: vinyl!

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present a repress of HEXECUTOR’s killer debut album Poison, Lust and Damnation on LP format.

While the cd edition had first been released in 2016, DYING VICTIMS took care of the vinyl edition in late 2017 and sold out of the album not too long after. Due to high demand, this relentless debut album requires a vinyl repress for sure! Hexecutor’s “Poison, Lust and Damnation” is an extremely pure and consistent thrash metal massacre which is rare these days.

With their 2nd album on the way, this is a perfect chance to complete their vinyl collection for anyone who missed the first press.

- Special edition on colored vinyl, with insert, poster, sticker, download code and patch.

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present a 18 track CD compilation featuring TØRONTO’s striking debut mini-album, Under Siege, their first self-titled demo and the Nocturnal High ep.

Hailing from Sweden, TØRONTO formed in 2017, partly out of the ashes of the sorely missed Morbus Chron – vocalist/guitarist Edvin Antonfolk and bassist Dag Landin, here under the stage names Eddie Flawless and 79-83, respectively – and also powerhouse drummer Leo Ekström Sollenmo, from the well-respected Lethal Steel and Temisto, under the name Lt. Oxtreme as well as one Seb Cyborg on guitars. With this lineup in place, the quartet released their debut demo in 2018 and then the Nocturnal High tape on DYING VICTIMS later that year, culmulating in the Under Siege MLP earlier in 2020.

Since previous material has been sold out and only available on tape format, this compilation will still the hunger for new material until the debut album will see its light of day. Don’t you worry – it’s on its way!

CD comes with sticker.
