Abigor - Höllenzwang (Chronicles of Perdition)

CHANNELING THE QUINTESSENCE OF SATAN LP out by the end of the month.

Coming in the shadow of the new album, local sonic terrorists Rotten Relics have long prepared the first time vinyl release of Channeling The Quintessence Of Satan in its original version.

For some years, we strictly said no to a reissue, since that album marked the beginning of the end, and somehow its fate was cursed. Silenius quit in the studio during the recordings, TT followed after its release, PK kept things running for a while but ultimately, it lead to the slumber that followed.
Channeling has its flaws and we do not consider it as part of the main ABIGOR canon, which is representd in the Hörnix 6xLP box, featuring the trinity PK, Silenius, TT just as today.
Still, some of the best riffs we did in the 90s are found here. „Dawn Of Human Dust“ is a real ABIGOR classic, especially in the version with new vocals and bass (first on CD by End All Life, more recently as AV999 LP on Avantgarde).
Over the years we realised the album is is valued by some die-hards. It is part of some people´s personal history and closely connected to a moment frozen in time mercilessly. But music has the power to revive and bring back those days vividly.
Rotten Relics have pesterd ours ears long enough until we agreed and said ok, then for f**s sake they can do it! We pay tribute to these people. And the lacquer cut sounds killer, even the sick „Pandora´s Miasmic Breath“ pierces through the spakers like poison arrows, so the decision was right.

It will be a strictly limited one-time release with 375 numbered copies on sale and never to be issued on vinyl again. It is made STRICTLY for those to whom this album means something.
For sale in the Rotten Relics webshop by the end of the month.
We do not endorse any discogs flippers! If you want to order more than one LP with some local friends, we will only agree if such combined order is verifiable. No „rarity collectors“ and golddiggers allowed. From maniacs for maniacs!

"ABIGOR - ´Quintessence´ (Avantgarde Music, AV999) https://luzifer.bandcamp.com/track/dawn-of-human-dust
2 x LP + 7“ set sturdy casewrapped jacket (boxset-like hardcover gatefold) limited to 500 handnumbered pieces, never to be repressed again
improved vinyl sound (master / lacquer cut) featuring - Channelling The Quintessence Of Satan: drums and guitars recorded 1998, bass and vocals recorded 2011, new dynamic vinyl master 2016 - The Satanic Tapes: complete 1993/94 demo recordings (Ash Nazg..., lux devicta est, promo tape 2/94, Moonrise) The history of Channelling The Quintessence Of Satan: During the winter 1998 recording, Silenius - at that time more and more detached from Black Metal - felt unable to contribute anything worthwhile to the fiercly riffing album, so Thurisaz took over. We have never been really satisfied, since ABIGOR´s musical work was always paired with Silenius´ individual voice and original performances. But not only the vocals, also theme of the album, inspired by Bergman´s „The Seventh Seal“, wasn´t represented well by the synth interludes, samples and effects - appearing like an alien element on the otherwise thoroughly traditional work. Forward to the mid 00s, PK found a CD-R with an instrumental stereo file of the first 3 studiodays - not even a rough-mix but a „no-mix“, the kind we always took home on cassette (later CD-R) after the basic tracking, to hear what was achieved and prepare the next session. the original 24-track tapes, and with it access to the individual instruments, were lost, but now with the stereo CD-R, we had the chance to use the original drums and guitars, add new vocals and bass, and keep the atmosphere pure, free from inappropriate keyboard additions. AR first performed the vocals for Chennelling The Quintessence Of Satan in 2010 but again, we haven´t been ultimately satisfied. After some weeks, we deleted the whole vocal recordings, now accepting nothing less than the most devoted and possessed performance possible. One year later, a final recording session was set up. This time AR truly stepped down into the abyss and back in time, into europe´s darkest age when death and devilry planted fear in the hearts and darkness in the souls. He layed down an otherworldly performance but for a price, his own soul was consumed by the serpents and flames he called forth in the intro, and the curse of this album left him unable to continue, too. The Final Chapter: Rough and ugly sonics was the declared aim already in 1998 - after the pompous Supreme Immortal Art, we wanted to enforce the raw power and evil nature of Black Metal, and while Marshall towers were readily available at Hörnix studio, we used a cheap crappy Zoom effect box for the guitars. CTQOS was tracked very quickly - on the first afternoon the drums were set-up and recorded, mostly first takes played freely and improvised without whatsoever pilot. On the second day, guitar recordings started and on the third day, we had a full instrumental album. Using the „no-mix“ underlines the utterly direct and rough version of ABIGOR, as „live“ as it gets. On the 2011 CD version we tried to compensate the „no-mix“ with further enforcing the distorted nature of the album and heavily compressed the sound. In retrospect this wasn´t the best decision (we will find a way for all those who bought the CD to access the new master digitally), and now, 5 years later, our experience gave us the ways and means to come up with an improved and dynamic vinyl master. Channelling The Quintessence Of Satan finally shines in a completely different black light. Also for the first and last time, the demos are released in entirety on vinyl, and there is no need to lose any further words on these, as they document the Black Metal movement´s powerful peak. This is how 1993 and 1994 sounded, in all grim, self-made and most primitive glory. Recorded with 2 cheap microphones plugged directly into the Tascam 4-track, in the cold cellar of Tharen´s house. The unfiltered aural witness of reckless teenagers confessing their souls to Satan, of clashing swords and dark forests, of violence and bloodshed, trying to raise hell on earth in the name of all dark and evil. This is what we need again now. Fuck the scene, fuck the bignames and fuck the „new hot discoveries“, the polished entertainment, the trendy idiots hiding under their robes. Hail & kill, with us or against us - for the greater glory of the devil!"

Nachdem hier "Time Is The Sulphur In The Veins Of The Saint" nun auch einige Runden gedreht hat, hat die LP so richtig gezündet!
