DVP 218 Animalize – Meat We’re Made Of LP/CD

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present the highly anticipated debut album of France’s ANIMALIZE, Meat We’re Made Of, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

The roots of France’s ANIMALIZE go back to 2014, when the moniker was first chosen, but their lineup didn’t solidify until 2018. From the beginning, the power-trio’s influences were set: heavy metal from the ‘70s and ‘80s, but specifically the likes of Loudness, W.A.S.P., Tokyo Blade, Glenn Tipton, Ritchie Blackmore, Glenn Hughes, and Annihilator and especially classic French heavy metal like ADX, Malediction, Sortilège and Warning. Synthwave and New Wave, both old and new, also musically influence ANIMALIZE.

However, it is the band’s love of movies which arguably influences ANIMALIZE’s outlook the most. For them, a visual identity and atmosphere – whether in their visual aesthetic, be it artwork or onstage, or especially their upcoming videos – is of the utmost importance. Film also feeds their lyrics, quite often. The band states that such movies as Evil Dead, Mad Max, Pet Sematary, Masters of the Universe, and Terminator are among their most beloved.

Armed with these noble touchstones, ANIMALIZE released their debut EP, Tapes from the Crypt, in 2020. A swift and solid 20 minutes, the EP displayed massive promise from ANIMALIZE, which they’ve handily surpassed with their full-length debut, Meat We’re Made Of. Graced again with an unforgettable cover, Meat We’re Made Of is a breathless and breathtaking statement. Its sound races all over the place, from cruising speed to tricky detours to headbanging mid-tempos, with an organized sort of mayhem, as explosive solos and dramatic vocal layering turn these nine beguiling songs into impossible anthems. That sound is undeniably HEAVY METAL, but ANIMALIZE manage to synthesize speed metal with power-thrash and traditional metal into a dizzying-yet-addicting blend that jumps across countries and even continents with insane ease. It’s both futuristic and firmly rooted in the past, and the album’s sterling production sharpens it to a katana.

Maybe most amazingly, this dazzling interplay comes from a power-trio, but ANIMALIZE will become a quartet for upcoming live shows. Likewise, Meat We’re Made Of had, in fact, been finished for some time, but the band have prepared two music videos for its release which tell a story – eight actors in addition to the band, with tons of action and FX. Altogether, a suitably grand entrance for what will be one of metal’s most literally explosive debuts this year!

– Regular edition on black vinyl, with insert, poster, sticker, post card and download code.
– Special edition on bone colored vinyl, with insert, poster, sticker, post card, download code and patch.
– CD edition with sticker.

Out 30th June.

So. Nun aber. Also.

DVP 251 Animalize – Tapes from the Crypt MLP/MCD

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present a reissue of the explosive debut mini-album of France’s ANIMALIZE, Tapes From the Crypt, on CD, and 12” vinyl formats.

Since 2018, France’s ANIMALIZE keep playing the kind of music that you (or your parents) may have been listening to 40 years ago. You know that “Heavy Metal” sound that appeared at a time when none of the band members was born. Well, they’re still doing it.

However, it is the band’s love of movies which arguably influence ANIMALIZE’s outlook the most and make the difference. For them, a visual identity and atmosphere – whether in their visual aesthetic, be it artwork or onstage, or especially their eventual videos – are of the utmost importance. Film also feeds their lyrics, quite often. The band states that such movies as Evil Dead, Mad Max, Pet Sematary, Masters of the Universe, and Terminator are among their most beloved.

While they would bring both to Technicolor climax with their debut album for DYING VICTIMS, Meat We Are Made Of, during the summer of 2022, ANIMALIZE nevertheless came out with all guns blazing two years prior on the preceding mini-album Tapes From the Crypt. With an eye-grabbing (and era-authentic) cover setting the stage, the originally-limited Tapes From the Crypt managed to make ANIMALIZE’s strengths plain and POWERFUL: cruising speed metal glory crossing swords with radio-ready traditional metal of a most mid-‘80s vintage. This is the sound of ANIMALIZE at their most straightforward– and, arguably, most accessible – for the proceeding debut full-length found them upping the vocal layering and especially the complexity considerably, but the gleam & glory of Tapes From the Crypt is undeniable, and undeniably fun. A snapshot of a still-boundless band finding their wings, now finally reissued: the saga of ANIMALIZE begins here!

– Regular edition on black vinyl, with insert, poster, sticker, post card and download code.
– Special edition on deep purple vinyl, with insert, poster, sticker, post card, download code and patch.
– MCD edition with sticker and obi.

Out 24th March

DVP 334 Animalize – Verminateur LP/CD
DVP 218 Animalize – Meat We’re Made Of LP – 2nd pressing

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to (finally!) present the unexpected second album of the ANIMALIZE frenchies, Verminateur, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

At last, the second wind of youth is blowing for “French Heavy Metal” – and, to be honest, not a moment too soon. It took just over 40 years for France to finally have its own heavy shock-rock band, ANIMALIZE: a name you may already have seen on some French and German lineup events over the last four years.

“Who do these extroverts think they are, sporting outrageous outfits with harnesses and chains? Brandishing a chainsaw and a katana in the middle of a concert, then vomiting blood all over the audience? Really?!” Yes, really.

Year 2025. ANIMALIZE are back with a new full-length, Verminateur – but this time, entirely in French, at the request of maniacs since their first record, 2020’s Tales From the Crypt EP. If their Meat We’re Made Of debut album in 2022 showed the visible part of the iceberg, then Verminateur displays the true sound of the band, pushing the boundaries! That celebrated first full-length might’ve seen the band evince a sort of restless genius – speed metal synthesized with power-thrash and traditional metal into a dizzying-yet-addicting blend, jumping across countries and even continents with insane ease – but on Verminateur, ANIMALIZE lock into a lazer-sighted focus that sees them making good on the anthemic side of things they only hinted at before. Mostly mid-tempo, strutting and cruising with charisma, nearly all of the album’s ten tracks (barring a one-minute synthy & cinematic “Invasion” and the dramatic piano piece “Prière de Remords”) hit that heavenly balance between buoyant hook and heavy thrust, between rock-god maximalism and back-street mischief. It’d not be inaccurate to say some of the tracks could’ve been on MTV circa 1985…if that channel aired in France. And when ANIMALIZE wanna rip forth in speed metal mode, they do so with a streamlined power that’s a marvel to behold. Oh, and the all-French lyrics simply make Verminateur that much more sublime, surprising, and above all unique.

For he is the earth cancer eliminator. He is the VERMINATEUR! Because the vermin is YOU.

To coincide with the release of ANIMALIZE’s Verminateur, DYING VICTIMS will be reissuing Meat We’re Made Of. Taste the New Wave of French Heavy Metal…again!

– Regular edition on black vinyl, with insert, poster, sticker, post card and download code.
– Special edition on glow-in-the-dark vinyl, with insert, poster, sticker, post card, download code and patch.
– CD edition with sticker and obi.

Zuletzt bearbeitet:

Ach Leut was tut ihr mir da an?
