Ziemlich lesenswert.

“The Somberlain” was recorded in Unisound Studios during five days in March 1993, under the guidance of its proprietor Dan Swanö.

– It cost me 6 000 crowns (700 USD/625 EUR). I remember talking to Jon before the album came out, and we agreed how amazing if would be if it ended up selling 1000 copies. Underground! We felt confident it would, sooner or later …

Was übrigens für so ziemlich jedes Interview in diesem Blog gilt.

Rein subjektiv.

"I will also move away from everything related to metal. The ‘666’ is of the past – it is the tool of children, of a blasphemy that I have no further need of. I bid goodbye to the teenager within and embrace the man of my self."

Anathema

A few years ago, Danny Cavanagh – lead guitarist and founder of Anathema, happened to be staying with a mutual friend in Oslo when I visited. I seized the opportunity to conduct an interview about the band’s formative years and their progression from doom/death metal into the sound they’re renowned for today. Anathema are notoriously reluctant to discuss their ancient history but thanks to my friend, Danny agreed to make an exception. My way of repaying his kindness was commencing our conversation by offering him a Red Bull and vodka; alas, unbeknownst to me he’d given up drinking some years prior. Fortunately, he was a good sport about it and once I’d recovered my composure (as well as facial pigmentation), we got started.

Am Ende des Interviews heißt es: "The remainder of this conversation will be published in a printed publication coming later this year."
