"Our first single, 'The Plague', starts very groovy but ignites the full charge of old school death metal at least when we arrive at the chorus", guitarist Markus Bünnemeyer explains. "Our singer Jens is supported by the amazing Marc Grewe, whose early works have very much inspired Temple of Dread. Their voices are surprisingly similar and complementary. The song's lyrics revolve around the historic 'Plague of Athens'. According to classical sources, this epidemic destroyed man from within and almost destroyed a whole civilization. Any parallels to modern pandemics are 'purely coincidental'. Ecuadorian director Christian Kdrumworm has brilliantly visualised our lyrics with great attention to the details of the 'Beyond Acheron' artwork created by the incredible Paolo Girardi!!"

Temple of Dread gehen immer. Die ersten drei Alben gehören zu den stärkeren Death Metal-Alben aus Deutschland.
Auf eine Vorbestellung verzichte ich aber erstmal. Zwischen 26 und 30 Euro für eine Underground-Band auf einem Underground-Label ist für mich definitiv zuviel. Testimony Records wurde kürzlich verkauft, keine Ahnung, ob es damit zusammenhängt. Die letzten qualitativ hochwertigen Produkte des Labels kosteten zwischen 20 und max. 25 Euro. Testimony, schau mal zu Dying Victim, so geht das.
Dafür ist die CD fair bepreist, zugegeben. Zusätzlich nervt mich, dass das Shirt auf Gildan Softstyle gedruckt wird.

11 neue Minuten made in Sweden. Ich bin gespannt!
Die neue EP kam heute an und ich bin vollends unterwältigt. Mein Bauchgefühl sagt mir auch, daß sich keiner der beiden Songs entwickeln wird - anders als die Staubschicht die sich darauf ansetzen wird. Leider war das nichts.

Ich habe mich leider von dem Cover etwas auf den Irrweg leiten lassen. Das hat mich doch arg an die erste EP/Split erinnert. Aber du hast recht, es wirkt schon gezwungen, als wolle man an die alten Tage anknüpfen - auf Deibel komm raus.
Gerade bin ich auch tierisch froh, das ich mir das Teil nicht in Schweden bestellt habe.

Vomitory bockt. Allerdings frage ich mich, ob bei der Produktion nicht weniger mehr gewesen wäre, das klingt mir auf Albumlänge etwas zu aufgeblasen. Egal: nach 2 Durchläufen mindestens gutes Sommeralbum.
