Originally formed in 1985/86 in the Salt Lake City area Baphomet are a virtually unknown entity for many. Their first official output was the 1987 self titled demo now long buried and forgotten. In 2010 Slaughterhouse records reissued the recording on CD along with an extra newly recorded song under the title Children of Doom to round out the release. This, the first vinyl version of the demo will include only the four original demo tracks CHILDREN OF DOOM/EVIL WITCHERY /SATANIC FEAST/NECROMANCY.
Thirty minutes of the most virulent,satanic metal of death from that period. For old maniacs who live for the old sounds of pre Altars of Madness Morbid Angel, Poison,Profanatica and the Necrovore Demos. COMING SOON!!!

Gibt's demnächst auch hierzulande über IBP & HRR. Letztere haben noch Damnakleez - Angel of Evil vom selben label übrig, für Fans des guten alten Possessed & Slayer-Sounds sehr zu empfehlen.

BBTAD ist wirklich eins der besten Label, was demo reissues angeht. Einfaches aber passendes design, guter Sound, kein Firlefanz, nur farbiges Vinyl wer mag, und keine blödsinnige Limitierung. Da gibt's noch ne Menge feines US-Demozeug, dass die wirklich gut auf Vinyl bannen könnten. Wie geil wäre z.B. ne Necrophagia (CA), Necropolis (CA), Sick From Hate/Sounds From Hell/Necromansy, Legion of Death, Post Mortem usw. Demo-Comp? Ich bin gespannt, was die noch so ausgraben!

Bombarding the listener with riff after punishing riff, LEFT CROSS establishes a palpable pulse from the aptly-titled opening track, “Hail of Doom”, and drags the listener along by the neck as that pulse fluidly flips from stomping to galloping and back again. It is clear that this ferocious five-piece rejects the all too familiar tropes of today’s easily digestible metal of death, like studio-fabricated cavernous “atmosphere” and soporific droning passages, and instead produces something potent that you can grasp onto and carry into battle with fist raised and head banging. The prophecy is set in stone, and LEFT CROSS are destined to conquer. Featuring members of Antichrist Siege Machine, Spite (live), and other reputable defenders of the faith.

Oha, da kommt ein gewaltiges Death/Doom Kaliber auf uns zu. Die 4 Damen aus Dänemark machen so ziemlich alles richtig, bis auf die Labelwahl (Napalm Records). Bin jetzt nach den 3 Vorabsongs schon ziemlich heiss drauf.

Nun in voller Gänze zu hören und leider bestätigt sich mein erster Eindruck. Ziemlich uninspiriert, neues logo beschissen, cover beschissen und 10 € für eine 20-Minuten-CD sind schon recht übel. Erfüllt meiner Meinung nach den Tatbestand der Rohstoffverschwendung.
