Gestern kam sie bei mir an und ich muss einfach sagen: GROßARTIG!!!
Und auch der Patch ist richtig geil! Da ist man echt am überlegen: Auf die Kutte oder das Set zusammen halten.
Oder @Dying Victims Prod noch mal eine etwas abgeänderte Auflage des Patches für den Einzelverkauf. Dieses Motiv Meister fällt vom Himmel oder Wildschwein- / Igel- Tierkopf kommt gerade als Patch genial zur Geltung!
Mucke ist natürlich auch super und bestätigt den Eindruck von Braunschweig.
Und auch wenn es vielleicht nicht ganz hierher gehört: Wieder super verpackt.

Ich habe 5 Durchläufe gebraucht aber es hat sich gelohnt. Eine ganz feine Scheibe mit abwechslungsreichen Songwriting, dass trotzdem spontan und verspielt daherkommt. Wie auch schon auf der letzten Tension sind die Bassläufe eine wahre Freude.

Mir gefällt ja sehr, wie unaufdringlich dieses Album ist. Die zurückhaltende no-frills-Produktion ermöglicht ein entspanntes Hören als Hintergrundmusik genauso wie ein dynamisches Aufdrehen. Schon schade, dass Maik (warum auch immer) eine sehr begrenzte Halbwertszeit bei seinen Bandbeteiligungen zu haben scheint. Nach dem ersten im markanten Danzig-Stil gecroonten "Ohoo" dachte ich mir zwar sofort "ja okay, du schon wieder" - aber er macht das trotz seiner nur minimal variierten zwei bis drei Gesangslinien halt schon immer irgendwie auch verdammt gut. Besonders begeistert mich hier das Zusammenspiel von Bass und den nur leicht angezerrten Gitarren, die neben Arbeiterklasse-NWOBHM-Riffs halt auch viel Punk-Melancholie im Stil von Leatherface und Konsorten kanalisieren (und damit dem letzten Lord Fist-Album nicht gänzlich unähnlich sind). Ein sehr schönes Debüt!

Neues Material mit dem neuen Sänger habe ich bereits gehört, das klingt zwar logischerweise etwas anders, ist aber ebenfalls super.

Live fand ich Firmament mit neuem Sänger noch besser als auf Platte. Der Gute bringt viel mehr Power mit. Bin sehr gespannt auf neuen Stoff!

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present Gathered Under Open Skies, a special split mini-album between Germany’s FIRMAMENT and MIDNIGHT PREY, on CD and 12” vinyl formats.
Gathered Under Open Skies is indeed a special gathering, bringing together two forces that have become something like flagship bands for DYING VICTIMS: old “newcomers” FIRMAMENT and the reunited MIDNIGHT PREY. This special mini-album includes two brand-new tracks from both bands, totaling 23 minutes of vintage rock/metal moodiness.
FIRMAMENT continue their ascent following their widely acclaimed We Don’t Rise, We Just Fall debut earlier this year, having largely risen from the ashes of speed metallers Tension but bringing a different approach with them. Here, with new vocalist Marco, the five-piece further flesh out that velvety vision, taking turn-of-the-‘80s hard rock (and even a touch of equally early deathrock) down roads much more melancholic and emotive. You might even shed a tear while rocking out to their two fistbangers here; wherever you wanna go, FIRMAMENT will take you there. And tears may’ve been shed when MIDNIGHT PREY initially called it a day in 2020, but as of last year, the power-trio are back in action and, this summer, released a two-song tape to pick up right where they left off with their modern-classic Uncertain Times LP. Those two songs are provocatively titled – “Black Cat” and “Sword and Shield” – and between them, MIDNIGHT PREY keep that clean-yet-dirty surge that’s equal parts punk, rock, and metal but totally unique. And considering the epic lengths these two tracks go to, the future suggests more splendors to come…

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present the highly anticipated second album of Germany’s FIRMAMENT, For Centuries Alive, on CD and vinyl LP formats.
Formed in 2021, FIRMAMENT have drawn inspiration from everything the night sky has to offer in terms of rock music, fusing myriad influences from various eras – from proto-metal to NWOBHM. As first boldly displayed by the debut album We Don’t Rise, We Just Fall – released in 2023 by DYING VICTIMS to critical acclaim – the Germans’ authentically homemade sound feels familiar yet ventures into uncharted territory: a journey through time, bridging past and future. FIRMAMENT distill the signature trademarks of these musical aeons into a sound that lingers not just in the ear but, most importantly, deep within the heart.
And since that fruitful formation, FIRMAMENT’s classic lineup of drums, bass, twin guitars, and vocals has been bringing their epic, dark, yet romantic heavy-rock sound to the stage. Among many others, the band have played at such festivals as Muskelrock, Starlett Stock, and Trveheim, establishing themselves as a captivating live act – and, in the process, earning highly positive feedback from the press, the scene, and their fans alike.
FIRMAMENT’s foundation was poignantly established by the aforementioned debut album and then successive split with the reanimated MIDNIGHT PREY, Gathered Under Open Skies, but the sky is indeed the limit. Witness the band’s dramatic second album, For Centuries Alive. With full dedication to their new work, FIRMAMENT explore new sonic and lyrical realms, all in celebration of “Her Majesty” – music, in all her glory. Die Produktion hat einen besseren Bumms. Das schmeichelt dem Tanzbein. Und der neue Sänger hat auch mehr Groove und was warmes angenehmes in der Stimme.
