Das Digipak von "Midian" ist wirklich unterirdisch schlecht aufgemacht. Da kann aus meiner Sammlung nur das "Like An Ever Flowing Stream" Digipak mithalten, das hat sich nämlich schon mal in seine Einzelteile aufgelöst^^

Kein Necrophagia-Thread? Nun gut: neues Projekt von Killjoy: HAXXAN
HELLS HEADBANGERS is proud to present the debut album of HAXXAN, Loch Ness Rising. Although "new" in name, HAXXAN features underground legend Killjoy DeSade (Necrophagia, The Ravenous, Wurdulak, et. al.) on vocals and synth. Formed in 2011 by Killjoy and guitarist Shawn Slusarek, the duo decided to write material that had an old-school black metal vibe, citing such influences as Beherit, Archgoat, and Blasphemy with hints of Candlemass and Mercyful Fate. The duo then added bassist Jake Arnette and drummer Serge Streltsov, and soon recorded their debut album, Loch Ness Rising.
Spread over 10 tracks, HAXXAN's Loch Ness Rising is conceptually based on Aleister Crowley, as Killjoy has been a life-long Crowley enthusiast. As a full-band unit, HAXXAN soon celebrate the life, works, and magick of Crowley through patiently unfolding vistas of doom and dread, eerieness and unease. Recorded at Thelema Studios and mixed/mastered by Grzegorz Kulawiak at Sin Mix Studios, Loch Ness Rising richly resonates with a pure (and purely eerie/uneasy) tone that lends these songs a unique character: undoubtedly heavy in a manner not unlike To Mega Therion-era Celtic Frost, there's likewise a ghostly aspect to its conversely crushing stomp. As expected, Killjoy delivers a peerless performance, stretching all extremes of his twisted 'n' tortured throat, almost narrating the slowly enveloping fog of unearthly horror. Taken together, Loch Ness Rising is an experience both atmospheric and caustic, bleeding black blood and drinking it from a ceremonial cup - just as Crowley would've wanted it.
As longtime fans of Killjoy's incredibly prolific work in the metal underground for the past 30 years, HELLS HEADBANGERS warmly welcomes HAXXAN to the label, and will be working with Killjoy on a special reissue of Necrophagia's classic debut album, 1987's Season of the Dead. A statement from Killjoy reads: "HAXXAN are extremely pleased to be a part of the HELLS HEADBANGERS family. We feel as if this was the only real home for our visions and sounds. Do what thou will shall be the law!"

Bin erst die Tage über Killjoy gestolpert, als ich im Zuge eines Reprints meines 80er Fanzines DEVIL´s POISON in mein Archiv gegangen bin. In nur #4 war ein längeres Interview mit Ihm, und in dem Stapel damals nicht verwendeter Fotos, bin ich mir fast sicher, das das hier Frank Killjoy Pucci ist:

Das Debüt von Necrophagia wird von Xtreem Music neu aufgelegt:

[ENG] On April 6th will see the light a new official re-issue, 35 years after its recording, of what was actually the band's 1st album, but it was censored and rejected. In 1990 a bootleg edition came out only on vinyl and later (2000) on a compilation CD, but this is the first time that it is released officially with the original cover (and alternative inside), original tracklist, along with notes, lyrics, photos photos and art from the time of this mythical US band that played a unique and genuine hybrid of Horror Death, Thrash and Black with a totally old school sound and style.
In addition to the CD, there is also a vinyl edition of 500 copies (100 of each color and 200 of the black one), as well as cassette and T-Shirt, both runs of 50 units.

[ESP] El próximo 6 de Abril, saldrá una re-edición oficial, 35 años después de su grabación, del que en realidad fue el 1er álbum de la banda, pero fue censurado y rechazado. En 1990 salió una edición pirata sólo en vinilo y más tarde (2000) en un CD recopilatorio, pero esta es la primera vez que sale editado de forma oficial con la portada original (y alternativa en el interior), tracklist original, junto con notas, letras, fotos y arte de la época de esta mítica banda americana que practicaba un único y genuino híbrido de Horror Death, Thrash y Black con un sonido y estilo totalmente de la vieja escuela.
Además del CD, también hay edición en vinilo de 500 copias (100 de cada color y 200 del negro), así como cassette y camiseta, ambas tiradas de 50 unidades.
