GORGONOISID spielen einen bösartigen Mix aus Noiserock und Sludge, also in etwa so wie wenn THE JESUS LIZARD sich im Proberaum mit BUZZOV-EN zusammen tun.... Das Master liegt bereit, der Vinylumschnitt erfolgt in den nächsten Tagen.

Später im Jahr dann noch ne neue B.SON Mini LP und ne LP von TOOD aus Frankreich/England. Doom on!

Today the testpressings have been approved by the band. So we're happy to announce, that the GORGONOISID - s/t - LP will be released on October, the 2nd 2015! These folks come from Frankfurt / Germany, and this is their first LP. The band consists of ex- and current members of CONFUSED, GOLDEN GORILLA, CAPTAINPOPAPTAIN, BLACK SHAPE OF NEXUS, GUNMOB, etc. This should already tell you a lot about these guys. We're very happy to release this record, since it's some really unique stuff going on here. I'm always thinking of a mix of early sludge bands like BUZZOV-EN, 16 or NOOTHGRUSH mixed with Noiserock like THE JESUS LIZARD or SCRATCH ACID. But then again, this also has some really slow stuff on it. I can already tell you: an insane record... like a cry of despair through a hold shut mouth.

There will be a special Pre-Order / Release-Show - Edition of the record. This will contain a one sided Picture 7", with "Blackfaced" sung by 10-year old Jayboss. Hell yeah! Strictly limited to 100 copies.

Am Samstag, den 29sten August startet der Pre-Order für das nächste Release... die GORGONOISID - LP. Die Platten werden spätestens bis zur Release Show am 2. Oktober in der Au in Frankfurt fertig sein. Vermutlich kann ich sie schon für alle Besteller in den Tagen vor dem 2. Oktober rausschicken, so dass ihr die Platte am Release Tag in den Händen haltet. Also seid auf der Lauer, das Kontingent ist begrenzt. Es wird nur 100 Platten der ltd. Edition mit Bonus s-sided Picture 7" geben. Das heisst 50 Platten bei der Band, 50 bei uns. Ansonsten gibt es noch 200 Exemplare der normalen Edition.

Im aktuellen OX #122 - Oktober/November 2015 sind die drei letzten Releases besprochen:


"GORGONOISID - s/t - LP
Was für ein fieser, kaputter, ekelhafter Bastard aus allem, was die dunkle Seite der Macht mit einer Gitarre in der Hand vertritt. Der erste Gedanke lag sofort bei SCRATCH ACID, die auf Sludge treffen, muss aber im Laufe der LP relativiert werden, denn man metzelt sich durch den halben Sludge-Doom-Noise-Beklopptenkatalog. Frühe EYEHATEGOD und ein paar der besseren Noise-Vertreter paaren sich mit den kaputtesten der Fertigen (David Yow, SCRATCH ACID/JESUS LIZARD; Gibby Haynes, BUTTHOLE SURFERS; Will Shatter/FLIPPER), betten sich auf brutalst verzerrten Gitarren und nennen den Spross ihrer Lenden liebevoll GORGONOISID, dass sich der nicht poppig anhört, wird wohl jedem einleuchten. Unbedarften ist vom Konsum harter Drogen beim Abspielen dieses Monsters dringend abzuraten. Es könnte sein, dass ihr von diesem Trip nicht mehr zurückkehrt. In jeden Fall hilft es ungemein, wenn man einigermaßen einen an der Waffel hat, um das Ganze bei einem Stechapfeltee zu goutieren.

STAND DER DINGE - s/t - LP
Dem ersten guten Eindruck des schönen D.I.Y.-DieCut-Screenprintcovers folgt ein zweiter, sobald sich die Nadel in die Rille gesenkt hat. Post-Hardcore mit heiseren Screamo-Vocals, bei dem man ruhig mal leise CONVERGE flüstern darf. Die Gießener klingen zwar nicht ganz so brachial (wurden ja auch nicht von Kurt Ballou aufgenommen), sind aber textlich in jedem Fall auf Augenhöhe. Ballert da, wo es ballern muss, und bekommt beim Gesang an einigen Stellen durch die sich überlagernden Schichten der Gesangsspuren ein ziemliches Tempo. Andere Bands brauchen für so eine Platte mindestens drei bis vier Anläufe, diese Jungs schaffen es auf Anhieb. Kann was!

VON DRAKUS - The Black Gate - LP
Wie weit ein CD-Release von dem einer LP entfernt sein kann, kannst du mit Tonträgern wie diesem auch dem allerletzten Depp deutlich vor Augen führen. Aufklappcover, für das du Platz brauchst, um die LP aus der Verpackung zu friemeln, ohne sie dabei zu beschädigen vs. popeligem CD-Tray-Aufklappen. Auf 45 rpm gibt es angepissten, fiesen Oldschool-Hardcore aus Gießen, bei dem sich einem HAMMERHEAD (meinetwegen auch INTEGRITY oder SHEER TERROR, solange es oldschool bleibt) als Querverweis durchaus aufdrängen. Filigran muss nicht immer sein, dann schon lieber tropfende Moshriffs und Doublebass-Aattacken. Achtmal auf die dicke Lippe, bis es blutet und einer heult.
