Botswanas Death-Metal-Institution Overthrust Deathmetal band bringt euch auf einer Split-7" zwei Tracks ihrer ersten MCD und damit ihr Verständnis von Metal in der südlichen Hemisphäre nahe. Die beiden Tracks sind zum ersten Mal auf Vinyl verfügbar und werden auf der B-Seite von einer Afrika-Soundcollage ergänzt, die ULTHAs Manuel Schaub mit Auftrittskünstler Sascha Brosamer und Vilho Nuumbala (Segregated Existence) als Trio KATUTURA eingespielt hat. Ermöglicht wurde die EP von der Kulturstiftung des Bundes und dem Kampnagel International Summer Festival. hab sie auf beiden Touren jeweils in Karlsruhe gesehen - stumpf wie alte Canniba Corpse meets alte Suffocation, nur technisch nicht auf dem Niveau. Waren cool und saunette Jungs, v.a. der Sänger/Basser (oder Klampfer). Guck ich mir wieder an! Die Demo CD ist aber arg stumpf;)
 
Ah nice, Overthrust hab ich auch schon live gesehen, schön stumpfer DM. Ich war zufällig auch schon in ihrer Heimatstadt Ghanzi, bevor ich von ihrer Existenz wusste. Hätte nie gedacht, dass es in der Ecke der Welt solche Musik gibt :D

Geil! Was hat dich dorthin verschlagen?

Ich melde hiermit an, dass wir vorhaben eine Reisegruppe zum nächstjährigen Overthrust Winter Metal Mania in Ghanzi zu machen.
Ich denke wir werden im Spätsommer richtig in die Planung gehen.
 
Drummer von Overthrust ist heute Nacht von einem Auto angefahren worden und noch am Unfallort gestorben. Er war grad mal 29, sein Sohn ist 4.

oh Mist... was für eine scheiss Nachricht:hmmja::hmmja::hmmja:. Habe sie beide Male in KA sehen und abfeiern können und der Drummer war mir als ebenfalls sympathischer Kerl in Erinnerung.. R.I.P.!

Habs auch schon gelesen. Der Arme. Großer Verlust für die dortige, kleine Metalszene. Da wird man auch nicht so schnell Ersatz finden können, falls sie weiter machen. Dabei hoffe ich eig. , dass sie nochmal ne kleine Europa-Tournee machen, fand sie auch live gut.
