Daumen runter allerdings für Kings Road. Die verpacken wirklich auf Sparflamme. Diese größeren Plattenkartons, das wars. Keine Luftpolsterfolie, nix. Zum zweiten mal innerhalb weniger Monate LPs mit angestoßnenen Covern bekommen. Das letzte Mal gabs wenigstens Ersatzcover. Email ist raus, mal sehen, was nun dabei rumkommt.

Joar, von denen hab ich auch schon ein Paket mit Vinyl bekommen. zwar alles bestens, aber Verpackungstechnisch kurz vor knapp. wenn da der Bote nicht gut mit umgegangen wäre...ui ui ui.

Statement from Sandy's husband Phil:

On Monday morning, March 22nd I went into our bedroom to wake Sandy up. She was unresponsive. I dialed 911 and they rushed her to the hospital. She was in septic shock and suffering from hypoxia (lack of oxygen). Her blood pressure was crashing. Her brain, heart, kidneys and liver were not working. Her entire body was shutting down. Sandy was pretty close to death. The neurologist didn't think she would wake up. Sandy spent two weeks in the ICU. She was in very critical condition.

After a week, to the surprise of the neurologists, Sandy did wake up! For us it was nothing short of a miracle.

Sandy has been a critical care nurse for over 15 years. She has worked in trauma, ICU, rapid response team, Neuro ICU and the ER.
She is a total badass! She has been saving lives and caring for others for a long time. Her strength, courage and compassion have guided her life. I believe those same traits helped her to survive.

Sandy has been in the hospital for six weeks so far. She will be moved to a rehab facility when she leaves the hospital. Extensive physical, occupational and neurological rehab will be required.

For the time being Sandy needs complete care. She is speaking a bit but it is difficult. She cannot feed herself and is on a puree diet. She will need to relearn how to walk.

The positive news is that Sandy IS improving, but still has a very long way to go. Progress will not be measured in days or weeks, but months and months.

We are reaching out for help with the mounting medical bills and for what will be a long, arduous road to recovery.

We greatly appreciate anything you can give. No donation is too small. We know a lot of people are struggling right now.

Wer spendet, sieht auch Fotos - nicht, das man die unbedingt braucht. Ich sag's nur... ;)

Das Ziel ist $100.000. Klar, ist auch viel, aber sind schon nach einem Tag fast 40K zusammengekommen. Interessant auch, wer so unter den Spendern ist: Alissa White-Gluz, Phil Anselmo, Gary Holt, Tracy Vera, Brian Slagel..... in der Not dann doch eine große Familie. Das ist schön zu sehen.
 
Das ist also auch eine der verkackten und fiesen möglichen Folgen einer Corona-Erkrankung über die mich mein Kumpel (Intensivmediziner) neulich informiert hat.

Mann mann..alles Gute Sandy. Hoffentlich kommt genug Kohle zusammen! Jammert noch einer über unser Gesundheitssystem!

Oh ok. Ich hatte heute früh bei Facebook nur 200.000$ gelesen.

Nur möglich über Kreditkarte. Geht da auch irgendwie Paypal und ich hab das übersehen?

Ich hab ne Kreditkarte, die wurde mir aber schon innerhalb kürzester Zeit zwei Mal gewechselt, weil wieder irgendwelche Server von Bezahlsystemen gehackt wurden, bei denen ich irgendwann mal bezahlt hatte. Weil mich das so nervt, hab ich mir gesagt, dass ich die Nutzung weitestgehend einschränke und das meiste über paypal oder ganz klassisch die Bank mache.
 
Mir tut es weh, diese Krankheits-Geschichte zu lesen.
Ich habe SR ziemlich spät entdeckt und war froh, mir letztens die ersten drei Veröffentlichungen auf Vinyl kaufen zu können. Außerdem liefert Phil im neuen Deaf Forever ein super-sympathisches Interview ab. Ich wünschte, mehr (US-)Musiker würden solche Haltung zeigen.
Ich spende $50 und verzichte dafür auf ein zwei neue LPs. Das ist es mir wert. Hoffentlich kommt seine Frau wieder auf die Beine.

Heute auch wieder ein Update:

Sandy had a good day yesterday. When I walked into her room she smiled and said "I missed you". I played her the Rocky theme and Eye of the Tiger during her physical therapy session. While I was feeding Sandy dinner she took the small juice cup, held it in her hand and finished it in her own! Sandra Rind overachiever!

Sacred Reich sind bisher spurlos an mir vorbei gezogen, aber das Interview im Heft war sehr, sehr symphatisch.
Bin jetzt gerade erst durch eine Email via Night Demon`s Metal Cares auf die Geschichte aufmerksam geworden.
Ein paar Taler sind rausgeschickt.
