Black metal pioneers SAMAEL from Switzerland have signed a worldwide record deal with Napalm Records! The band is working on a new album, which will be released later in 2017.
Napalm's A&R Sebastian Münch states:
"I could not be prouder! Today we would like to announce the worldwide signing of the Swiss cult band SAMAEL! SAMAEL has created some of the most lethal and authentic Black Metal albums with “Blood Ritual” and “Ceremony of Opposites”! With a more industrial approach later on, masterpieces likes “Passage” and “Eternal” saw the light of day! To make a long story short, SAMAEL are musical geniuses and we are happy to continue, together, this success story! Welcome to the Napalm family!"

Worship him und Blood Ritual waren super, damals war das ein fies-langsamer Gegenpart zu dem norwegischen Gerase, nichtsdestotrotz fast noch böser. Die COO war dann auch super, ich hatte damals auch ein Longsleeve mit dem Cover und fand mich sehr evil.
Passage dann eines der besten Alben aller Zeiten, bis heute. Dann ging es leider sukzessive bergab, Eternal war noch gut, danach hab ich alle Alben mal kurz angecheckt, dabei bleib es aber auch. Ich freue mich trotzdem auf das neue Album.

Ich besitze und kenne nur die "Ceremony Of Opposites" und die "Rebellion"-EP.
Nach lesen des Threads brauche ich jetzt noch die "Worship Him" und die "Blood Ritual".
In die "Passage" und die "Eternal" werde ich wohl auch mal reinhören müssen.

Worship Him ist eine 12/10. Komplett krank und in einer eigenen Welt. Mit einer Stimme aus der Gruft (gab und gibt wenige Black Metal Stimmen, die nur nach Tod und Verdammnis klingen. Vorphs auf Worship Him, Franta auf der Ritual, die ersten 3 Bathory, alles mit Dead).

Samael sind für mich persönlich inzwischen komplett uninteressant.
Da wo ich sie live sah, war die Abmischung immer ne Katastrophe.
Gitarren kaum wahrnehmbar, die Elektronik hat immer alle Frequenzen zugekleistert.
Musikalisch war für mich nach der Exodus-EP der Ofen aus.
Die Reign of Light empfand ich persönlich als Katastrophe, die Solar Soul hab ich ausgelassen.
Above hätte einen gewissen Reiz ausüben können, wäre der Sound nicht gewesen.
Und auf Lux Mundi schien man textlich wieder etwas zu wildern, musikalisch war das
aber so finster und böse wie eine Folge Biene Maja.
Ich meine, ich nenne meine Band nach nem gefallenen Engel, habe Songtitel wie Antigod im
Angebot und dann kling ich schaum gebremst? C'mon!
Heißt ich erwarte überhaupt nix, lasse mich aber gerne überraschen.

Absolut schlimm und vollkommen deplatziert, dieses neue Logo. Allein aus diesem Grund würde ich mir die Scheibe nicht holen, selbst wenn die Mucke nach 20 Jahren endlich mal wieder was taugen sollte. Na gut, falls die Scheibe musikalisch wider Erwarten richtig stark werden sollte, überlege ich's mir doch noch mal.

Also 'ne Kaufentscheidung vom Logo abhängig zu machen halte ich in beide Richtungen etwas........ befremdlich.
