Aber jetzt, wo ich drüber nachdenke ... "Anvil" haben an dem Abend gar nicht gespielt, sondern "Riot"

Also Riot haben auf der Tour nicht gespielt. Zwar waren ursprünglich Riot auf dem Billing, sind dann aber wieder abgesprungen. Evtl. ist das damals aber erst nach dem Drucken der Hardtickets passiert. Hatte mich so auf Riot gefreut und war dann natürlich recht enttäuscht. Geil war der Gig in Karlsruhe aber dennoch. Ich meine aber, dass Anvil Headliner waren und Titan Force Vorband. Wie auch mmer, Riot waren leider nicht dabei...

Bei der Anvil-/Titan Force-Tour war ich nicht, aber kann es sein, dass du die Sache mit Riot mit der Ultimate Power Force-Tour verwechselst? Das waren Metal Church, Vicious Rumors und Paul DiAnno's Killers, im Vorprogramm ersetzten Zodiac Mindwarp die auf den Hardtickets angekündigten Riot.

Das Warten auf das erste Riot Konzert, sowie später auch Tourabsagen (z.B. als sie für Hammerfall vorturnen sollten), hat schon ein wenig an den Nerven gezerrt. Umso toller war dann "das erste Mal" - bei mir auf der Tour mit Whiplash und Skyclad.

Im Nachhinein wird einem hier eber einiges klar, vor allem wenn man an Marks Krankheitsgeschichte denkt. Für den müssen Touren ja nochmal extrahart gewesen sein.

Ist finde ich mit Abstand die beste Conklin-Band und eines der Kronjuwelen des US Metal. Man sollte ihn den Titan, nicht den Tyrant nennen. Das Debut ist für mich eine wahnsinnige, emotionale Achterbahnfahrt und muss sich nur vor Awaken the Guardian verstecken.

Die erste Titan Force = eines der besten Debut Alben aller Zeiten und das zweitbeste Debut des Jahres 1989.

"Es sind ganz eng gewickelte Spiralen, die man bei uns "springs" nennt. Da wir aus Colorado Springs kommen, dachten wir, daß es eine ganz passende Idee sei. Wir wollten die Spiralen eigentlich so mit rot und blau anleuchten, daß dabei ein 3D-Effekt entstanden wäre, aber das kam im Druck nicht rüber. Daher haben wir uns entschlossen, die beiden Farben zu trennen. Blau von hinten - rot von vorne! Es hatte keinerlei Bedeutung, sondern wir hielten die Doppeldeutigkeit für sehr reizvoll und wollten es extrem vergrößert und auffällig eingefärbt abbilden, so daß jemand, der die Platte sieht, sich fragen muß, was es ist."

Titan Force machen nen klassischen Manowar-Move und lassen das Up the Hammers drei Wochen vor Beginn ohne Headliner hängen. Und das nach Covid und 3 (oder so) Verschiebungen. Das ist die Hybris, die man bei so vielen amerikanischen Musikern beobachten kann.

Ιt is always with a great regret when we are forced to write an announcement about a cancelation. Being fans ourselves we empathize with the fans and the disappointment that our announcement might bring to you. And it is because we are fans, our disappointment in the bands we grew up loving is amplified. It was always our intention for the festival to materialize, and we constantly communicated with the bands, updating them about the covid Situation in Greece. It was 3 months ago when we made the final decision and asked from all the bands their reconfirmation and their passports to arrange their transportation. (a member of) Titan Force, ignored all the updates and neglected to issue a passport, despite knowing that the passport procedure takes a lot of time and ignoring the fact that the longer we wait, the burden of the transportation cost harms the festival. Eventually, approximately a month ago, that member decided to finally make an application for the passport, and we were told that within a month he would have his documents, and there is no reason for alarm. Despite the reassurances, we urged the band to consider alternatives, such as having a guest musician, and we offered to provide a list of candidates and to assist the process. Again, the band refused. Finally, we were informed that on Monday he was going to get his passport and we were relieved that we could finally put the whole situation behind us, despite the financial damage the wait has caused us. After all, we really wanted to have Titan Force at our festival. Shockingly, we were informed that this whole time, the application wasn’t made according to US law and the applicant didn’t follow the right procedure to get his passport. His inability to obtain the required documents, despite having sufficient time, has stripped the fans of the band the joy of seeing them live, and stripped our festival of options, 3 weeks before the show. You know that we do not usually make defamatory posts such as this, but unfortunately this situation caused by Titan Force leaves us with no other choice. We are trying our best to make it up for the fans who were let down by the band. Rest assured that we will do everything in our power to provide you with the best available option, but the timeframe is very very tight.

Immer wieder interessant, wie unprofessionell manche Bands doch zu sein scheinen...und v.a. daß Harry, der ja sowieso in Griechenland lebt, wenn mich nicht alles täuscht, diesem Bandmitglied nicht mal in den Allerwertesten getreten hat

Wenn ich mich recht entsinne hat Professor Dr. Harry Conklin eine eigene Meinung zu Covid wundert mich also nicht.

Ich wollte das Thema nur nicht schon wieder breittreten. Ich brauche so Gestalten wie den Tyrant, Ross usw. auch nicht mehr und unterstütze die selbst auch nicht mehr mit Album- oder Ticketkäufen etc.. Aber auf Grund der Schilderungen der Veranstalter scheint der Grund ja nix mit Covid zu tun zu haben, sondern mit Faul- oder Dummheit und Harry scheints ja auch nicht zu betreffen, wenn der sowieso in Griechenland lebt, nehm ich mal an.
