OGRE – drei Höhlenmenschen entdecken den Doom

Dr. Zoid

Till Deaf Do Us Part

The Future
When I was young, the leading scientists
Dropped the population bomb
Shouting, “Soon we all will starve to death!”
Weigh the facts and they were wrong
When I was young, the powers were aligned
The Eastern bloc, the open West
Annihilation was the paradigm
The children cowered ‘neath their desks
The weight of the world crushes our grand designs
The future unfurls and never can be defined
When I was young, they said give peace a chance
And the world will live as one
Torn asunder by intolerance
Our chance for peace has come undone
Race relations, guns, and climate change
The pressing issues we bemoan
All may soon become irrelevant
Swept away by the unknown
The weight of the world crushes our grand designs
The future unfurls and never can be defined
The weight of the world crushes our grand designs
The future unfurls and never will be divined

Hive Mind
One day real, real soon you’re gonna find
You’ve gone and uploaded most of your mind
Online is where you spend your time
You think it’s cool, you’re just a tool
You drone, owned by your phone, your brain will drain
The planet has awoken and is insane
Outclassed, you’re just part of the past
Obsolete, reboot and then delete
Only alive while useful to the hive
Feed the machine you servant of the Queen
Her great computers fill the hallowed halls
We’re trapped inside a web that snares us all
Gia, a cell inside her head
That’s what you are - Alive, but really dead
When the world wakes up and takes a look around
Why in the world would she ever want you around?
Only alive while useful to the hive
Feed the machine you servant of the Queen
See what I mean?

Big Man
Big man, big mouth flapping in the breeze
Heartless, heartbreak, hard to take this sleaze
Hard ass, hardly walking through the world awake
Me first, me right, me a big mistake
Found out, found herself in the city of sin
Death bed, death head beneath her glowing skin
Bear down, bare her soul for the world to see
Breathless, breath away from eternity
Drowning in the sea of noise
Smacked down by the hands of time
Time and tide are gonna wash away
Any of the reason left in the rhyme
Press on, press release from the daily daze
Pass through, pass out, I’m gonna pass on this craze
Spin dry, spindrift, spin a web of schemes
Self-love, self-esteem, just a jerk-off dream

Judgement Day
Our savior was the proto-man, sent to judge mankind
Projected by computer from a distant time
He called down Armageddon, he sent the Jaded Beast
He paved the way to judgement day before eternal peace
Computer simulation is where you live your life
All the information to make your corpse alive
He raised his staff and scepter, he raised the gruesome dead
He stood upon the mountain top and this is what he said:
I am the resurrection / I am the incarnation / I am the son of man / I am the Great I Am
My Father wrote the program from somewhere in the sky
He sent the Holy Spirit to lead you through the lie
They say that I was human, they say I am his son
Together we are all there is, the three that live in one
I am the information / I am the devastation / I am the scourge of man / I am the Great I Am
You were my science project, a study in freewill
Will you help your brother or will you do him ill?
The game is finally over, perhaps it’s just as well
You few are free to follow me, the rest can rot in hell

Blood of Winter
Deep freeze is upon us / Setting of the sun
It rises on the east now / The western day is done
Four horsemen riding / Spreading hate and fear
Heavy devil tritones / Soon he will appear
Blood of winter, age of ice
Heroes slain and no one left to give advice
All is lost, hell is now at hand
The laughter of the evil one echoes through the Promised Land
Lead us to Hades / Blind us with your lies
Lemmings, we follow / Hear the children’s cries
White marble fortress / Capital of Doom
A pestilence of arrogance / Issues from the tomb
Blood of winter, age of ice
Heroes slain and no one left to give advice
All is lost, hell is now at hand
The laughter of the evil one echoes through the Promised Land
Ground down by tyranny / We are no longer free / He’s after you and me
A world of stupidity / Too much hypocrisy / Can’t stand reality
Truth is distorted / Eyes upon us all
The great bird is dying / Pride before the fall
Fracture and faction / Vitriol and blame
Darkness is upon us / United in shame

King of the Wood
Well, he talked about the girl on fire
He talked about the rabid hound
He talked about the dead and buried things
That crawl right out of the ground
He weaves a wicked tale of misery
He starve the rich man to the bone
See the runnin’ man turn to make his stand
Still it drags you from your home
He’s the king that lives in the wood
And he sees things that nobody should
When you’re deep inside the nightshift
And you know that your time is through
Better close the store, better lock the door
‘Cause he’s sendin’ the skeleton crew
Well, he walks right along the highway
You best not run him down
You can break every bone in his body, girl
You’re gonna pay with flesh by the pound
He’s the king of the great north wood
He divides all of the bad from the good
Well, you can’t tempt him with liquor
And you can’t tempt him with fame
He won’t listen to none of your money talk
‘Cause to him it’s all the same
He’s the king and lives in the wood
And you know, man, that he’s up to no good
He’s the king who understood
See the smoke rise where the man done stood

Cyber-Czar
Ever circling the sky / Is the king who cannot die
Knowing all that can be known / Puts us in the danger zone
He is cruel / And he will rule
Can’t resist / His iron fist
He was once our president / Prior to his accident
Now he orbits us on high / Scanning with electric eye
Save his brain / In so much pain
Meld his being / With space machine
In his shining metal star / Lives the psycho Cyber-Czar
Missiles from his satellite / We must find the will to fight
Friend to friend / This will end
Hand in hand / We’ll make a stand
All hail the Cyber-Czar! He is watching from afar
All hail the Cyber-Czar! In his shining metal star
All hail the Cyber-Czar! All hail the Cyber-Czar!
Renounce his tyranny / Make all his people free

What the...? Das ist in der Tat echt schräg. Alleine der Klappentext des Labels lässt eine erneute Anschaffung von The Last Neanderthal lohnenswert erscheinen:

EDIT: Hier auch noch erhellendes Label-Geschreibsel zu Plague of the Planet (liebes DF: Bitte schnell den Autor verpflichten, bevor euch jemand zuvorkommt!)

"OGRE ist eine Hardrockband. Also etwas, was uns in unseren Repertoire bisher fehlte.

Herrliche Musik!

Erinnerte mich bildlich an KONG-Konzerte.
