Linnéa leaves Grave Pleasures

We would like to thank Linnéa from the bottom of our hearts and wish her all the best on her new path. We will always be very proud of her and the work we did together. Grave Pleasures continues to rock and roll onward. We will announce our future plans very soon.

This from Linnéa:

“Grave Pleasures has been an intense adventure and creative experiment. This past year and a half has allowed me to grow as a songwriter and performer, and to experience life and music from strange and new perspectives.

Now the time is right for me to take the next step, and therefor I’ve made the decision to leave the band. I will focus on my own project, which hopefully will be in presentable shape later in the year!

A huge thank you to Uno, Juho, Mat & Valtteri, as well as all you people along the road for your much valued support. I hope to see you in the next chapter.

We've posted a very belated news piece about our new album and lineup changes, including a message from Uno, who departed the band earlier this year, on our website.
To cut a long story short, we’re back in the bunkers handling some radioactive new material for the next album. The new stuff is a nuclear fusion of our past with Climax and the beast(sic) parts of Dreamcrash. We're booked into the studio to make a pre-production demo next week.
We also welcome new members Aleksi Kiiskilä on second guitar and Rainer Tuomikanto on drums.
Hopefully we'll be able to share some sounds soon.

We’re back in the bunkers, handling some radioactive new material for the 2nd album as Grave Pleasures. The sound and vibe is older, colder and more frenetic than before. A nuclear fusion of Climax and the beast(sic) parts of Dreamcrash.

An underground uproar with a funeral party beat, we’re definitely dancing with the dead again.

Juho Vanhanen (from Oranssi Pazuzu) was always part of the band in reality. Though credited only as session, he played every live show with the band and was in every way our lead guitarist on Dreamcrash. Being already a major part of the band for a long time, he now joins Mat Kvohst McNerney in co-songwriting and arranging the music for the next album.

We’re surfing the apocalypse again and this time with the reverb button back on. Back to the new old sound and back to a Finnish lineup.

Zurück zur "Climax"? Wenn sie eine ähnliche Hitdichte wieder hinkriegen (was leider schwer ist), dann gerne. Wobei ich ja zu den wenigen hier im Forum gehöre, die auch "Dreamcrash" was abgewinnen können.

Nochmal versuchen. Bisschen auf die Feinheiten achten und die Band nicht für Beastmilk halten. Dann klappt es.

Richtig, da sind ein paar echt versteckte Hits drauf. Darf man nicht zu oft hören, aber wenn, dann bewusst.

Für mich sind da genau drei Tracks drauf die ich echt ganz klasse finde, der Rest ist für mich einfach totaler Vivinox Rock. Irgendwann haben wir mal den Fehler gemacht das "Dreamcrash" Album direkt nahtlos nach der "Climax" zu hören (ja, ich weiß, "neue" Band), war ein wenig so als hätte man den Schnaps aus dem Fenster gekippt uns sich aus dem Eisfach ein Mini Milk geholt. Das hat auch überhaupt nichts damit zu tun dass die Platte insgesamt ruhiger ist (gerade die ruhigeren Tracks mag ich auf der "Dreamcrash"), ich find es sind größtenteils schlicht keine guten Songs drauf.

Irgendwie liest sich der News Beitrag ein wenig so als würde die Band das ebenfalls so sehen, vielleicht sind ja mit dem nächsten Album alle wieder glücklich. ;>

The cover was designed by Samu Salovaara, who has been our red-right-hand graphic man since the early days with Beastmilk.
Funeral Party is a single with 2 tracks, "Deadenders" and "Cold War Funeral", giving a taster of our forthcoming album.

Climax war echt ein hammergeiles Album, schon gruftig aber iber noch geil gekickt und dann diese Eldritch/Danzig Vocals.
Grave Pleasures fehlt das gewisse etwas...wie schon ein paar vorredner gesagt haben, für sich alleine stehend sicher eine geile Band aber im Beastmilk Kontext nicht die totale erfüllung, die Refrains ein quentchen zu poppig und zu gesucht..

Kann ich genau so unterschreiben! Ausser das mit dem Song des Jahres, da hatte "Supernatural Predator" doch knapp die Nase vorn... Bin verdammt froh, dass ich Beastmilk vor der Auflösung noch auf der Roadburn-Hauptbühne erleben durfte! Grave Pleasures werden trotzdem weiter verfolgt, weil der gute Mat McNerney ein Genie ist - nur die Erwartungen sind nach dem leicht enttäuschenden Debütalbum halt nicht mehr so astonomisch hoch...
