Die American Recordings sind klasse, die Live Sachen auch. Bisher habe ich aber noch nix gefunden was das wirklich beste von dem Mann aus den 50ern bis zu den 90ern ordentlich zusammenfasst.

Das Bibelgedudel und Lieder über die Flut kicken mich einfach nicht so.

Die Silver ist allerdings verdammt stark.
Bull Rider ist einer meiner Cash Lieblingssongs.

Da mich die bisher gekauften Sachen ziemlich gut gefallen haben gab es heute ziemlichen Nachschlag:

Wird eine Weile dauern bis ich da durch bin, bin aber schon megagespanmnt wie mir das alles gefallen wird. Jetzt gerade ist auf jeden Fall mal "Hello, I'm Johnny Cash" dran.

erst vorhin entdeckt, den Thread. Alles wichtige wurde hier bereits genannt. Johnny Cash war ein unglaublicher Musiker, viele seiner Songs und Attitude berühren mich tief oder bringen mich zum schmunzeln, noch immer. Die genialen Highwaymen solltest du dir auch zulegen, wenn man auf Outlaw Country steht, nicht diese Truck Stop-artige Scheiße.. Wenn du dann noch weiter Bock hast, einzutauchen, gib dir mal noch den groß- und einzigartigen Hank Williams Sr. (50er-Jahre!) - the real deal! Auch einiges vom Sohnemann Hank Jr. geht klar, aber auch der assige Enkel und GG Allin-Freund Hank III hat paar coole Platten raus. Und, mein persönlicher Held des Country ist und bleibt auf ewig Townes Van Zandt, tragische Lifestory, tolle, oft tieftraurige Songs, das kickt noch mehr als Jennings, Nelson, Kristofferson etc. zusammen!

Ich habe zwar "nur" das "Folsom Prison" 1968 Live Album, und höre es immer noch gerne.
Unter anderem mit Carl Perkins an der Gitarre.

Perkins war genau wie Gene Vincent oder Lewis und Berry, die wahren Kings of Rock'n'Roll!

Man sieht gut, wie sich die "Stränge" des Rocks (ich sage Evolution dazu) ihre Wurzeln schlagen.
Durch mein Faible für Hendrix usw. komme ich zwangsläufig auch an andere Musiker, und durch die, wiederum an anderes.
Das zieht sich mMn einfach so durch die Geschichte.
Darum höre ich auch relativ viele Musik Genres und stoße dabei immer wieder auf neues/altes was mir noch nicht so bekannt war.
Du hast hier noch Scotty Moore und Buddy Holly vergessen.

Oh, da werde ich am Bahnhofskiosk auf jeden Fall mal reinschauen und dann entscheiden, ob das kaufenswert ist. Ich liebe ja solche Auflistungen

Ich bin zuversichtlich, dass die Macher der Zeitschrift es auch bei dieser Liste irgendwie schaffen, die Stones, Beatles sowie Bob Dylan auf die ersten drei Plätze zu hieven. Gefolgt von Nirvana als vielversprechender Nachwuchsact.

Ein wenig einfallslos das Cover, gerade mal im Online Shop vom Rolling Stone Magazin gesehen und siehe da, es wird ein Heft von März 2012 zum Kauf angeboten....

Unabhänig davon werde ich im Kisok mal ins aktuelle Stone reinschauen, Cash, 50 Country Alben und Nirvana klingt wie für mich gemacht......
