Soweit ich weiß war er bei Russes 50. Geburtstag. Oder war das Lou Tayler? Oder beide? Ach, das Gedächtnis wird auch nicht besser... Jedenfalls habe ich den Eindruck, dass hier irgendein Gastauftritt weniger unwahrscheinlich ist als dass Skyclad nochmal was mit Martin machen... ;)
Momentan schrauben Satan allerdings an neuem Material und versuchen diese ganze Gastauftritt-Geschichte zu vermeiden, aber nicht weil sie sich alle hassen sondern weil sich die Band auf die Gegenwart konzentrieren will und nicht auf die Vergangenheit.

Hm, interessant: zuletzt hatte Steve das wohl (wie auch bei SKYCLAD) selbst gemacht. Wenn er das jetzt in andere Hände gibt, was mag das bedeuten? Wächst ihm die Sache über den Kopf? Keinen Bock mehr drauf? Oder hofft er, dadurch mehr Gigs an Land zu ziehen (die man aber in den Terminplan bekommen muss - Steve selbst hat ja z.B. in der Regel nur in den Schulferien außerhalb der Wochenenden Zeit. Die eine Woche mit ENSIFERUM letzten Herbst war schon nur mit viel Glück realisierbar).

Bin jedenfalls gespannt, was dabei raus kommt! :)

Mir ist da grad noch was zu eingefallen: 2016 auf dem Bang Your Head!!! Habe ich Armand von NIGHT DEMON am Tabakstand getroffen und ihm geraten, sich unbedingt SATAN anzusehen, wenn er schon mal die Gelegenheit hat. Darauf hat er mir geantwortet, dass sie SATAN auf deren Nordamerika-Tour supported hätten, von daher würde er die schon kennen. Nichtsdestotrotz stand Jarvis später bei SATAN im Fotograben und hat gefeiert...

Also ja: wenn schon ein externer Manager, dann macht Jarvis durchaus Sinn! :)
 
So, hier - jetzt ist es endlich offiziell :) Satan haben bei Metal Blade unterschrieben, das neue Album kommt in der 2. Jahreshälfte:

"We're proud to announce the signing to Metal Blade Records for a multiple album deal! We have just finished recordings for our tentative new album to be released during the second half of 2018!
Metal Blade is part of Satan's past and we are super excited for it to be part of our future. It seems so fitting, it's hard to imagine another label that could give us a better platform for our music today."

Mein erster Gedanke bei dieser Nachricht war ein "Wie sich die Zeiten doch ändern" ;-)

While standard bearers of the NWOBHM movement and responsible for '83's seminal Court In the Act and '87's Suspended Sentence, with their tentative new album Satan make it abundantly clear that in 2018 they are not interested in simply capitalizing on past glories. Comprised of 10 tracks of searing metal, it is blatantly and profoundly the work of the Newcastle upon Tyne natives at their very best, infusing their signature sound with a more raw, wild and spontaneous vibe than they showcased on 2015's mighty Atom By Atom, in the process displaying more passion and energy than slews of bands half their age.

Having reunited in 2012 and returned to touring duty, Satan - comprised of six-stringers Russ Tippins and Steve Ramsey, bassist Graeme English, drummer Sean Taylor and vocalist Brian Ross - once more proved their collective mettle with 2013's Life Sentence and follow-up Atom By Atom, both records critically acclaimed and maintaining the high standards of their earlier releases.
