Das Ding gab es bis vor einigen Tagen aps Zahl-was-Du-willst-DL auf Bandcamp. Vorgestern kam dann plötzlich ne Promo ins Haus.

Formed in Sacramento CA and with its unnamed members now spread between Sacramento and San Francisco, mysterious and recluse blackened death-doom titans VRTRA forge colossal songs of unimaginable darkness and of suffocating intensity. Their hell-spawned music is a nightmarish and horrific kaleidoscope of sound that seamlessly brings together the brooding wretchedness of black metal bands like Deathspell Omega, Dragged Into Sunlight, and Blut Aus Nord, the cavernous and heathen below of the blackest and most abstract death metal as seen in behemoths like Dead Congregation and Diocletian, and the abysmal moods of atmospheric doom and black metal that come straight from the teachings of bands like Neurosis, Disembowelment, Winter, Unearthly Trance, and Altar of Plagues. VRTRA klingen in der Tat absolut grossartig, wunderbar wuchtig und pechschwarz.

Und noch etwas anderes, für die Baumliebhaberfraktion:
A Diadem of Dead Stars klingen nicht nur im Namen nach WITTR, sondern mischen auf ihrem Zweitling enorm gekonnt atmosphärischsten Cascadian Black Metal mit Depri-Keys, die auch einen Summoning-Touch haben. Mir gefiels beim ersten Hör enorm gut:

Nachdem ich ja damals unbeschadet NECROPOLE empfohlen hatte, wobei ich ja nicht sicher war, ob da jetzt was unkorrektes an der
Band war oder nicht, gibts heute CAVERNE. Ein-Mann Projekt von einem der zweitgenannten Band.
Absolut herrliche Melodien mit fuchsteufelswilder Raserei...

Hab mir den Vorabsong mal angehoert. Kicht mich jetzt nicht sonderlich, aber mal schauen, was das Album sagt, diese Musik ist ja meist doch etwas, was man im Gesamtverbund geniessen muss

Absolut großartiger Stoff, um sich dazu in den Teergruben der Seele zu versenken...!

Brache aus Frankfurt ist ein atmosphärisches Dreiergespann bei dem der Schlagzeuger singt. Atmosphärischer, rituell angehauchter Black Metal irgendwo zwischen Urfaust und Blastbeats.
Die bisherigen digitalen Aufnahmen sind leider super schlechte Qualität, aber Live werden Brache euch garantiert umhauen können.
Habe die Jungs als Vorband von Ancst gesehen und danach sind beinahe alle Menschen zum Merchstand gesprintet um Tonträger abzugreifen (die es leider aufgrund fehlender qualitativer Aufnahmen noch nicht gibt).
Wer sich live ein Bild machen möchte, kann dies heute in Wiesbaden tun, wo die Jungs UNRU und GHOST BATH im Schlachthof supporten werden.
Wenn ihr vorher mal eine Kostprobe sehen/hören wollt, geht das hier.
Wie gesagt, gibt online noch nichts aussagekräftiges zu hören, aber Live räumen die Mannen schon richtig gut ab!

Bombenalbum. PREDATORY LIGHT (Ash Borer- und Vanum-Kollegas) haben sich mal wirklich gemacht. Demo mau, Split-LP-Unterlegener gegen VORDE, nun mit NEGATIVE-PLANE-Gitarren an die Spitze der diesjährigen Albencharts. Sind bestimmt bald in aller Munde.
