Neuer LUCIFERICON! Für mich der nächste Highlight's des Jahres!
Holland's Lucifericon release their debut album Al-Khem-Me via Invictus Productions on Friday October 5th. Having previously released their mini album Brimstone Altar via Invictus, the band have accelerated their attack and intensity with their debut album show a style that is steeped in the grand traditions of Death Metal from the late 80s and early 90s. Today, Friday June 29th, we present a brand new track from the album titled 'Succubus of the 12th Aether'!

1. Tapes were delayed from production. Arrived after the release date.
2. I was on tour & unable to start packing & shipping orders.
3. Keeping up with the bureaucratic side of running the label is a nightmare.
4. I am a single parent w/ two kids...need I say more? Maybe for those of you out there who have no clue how demanding this can be...But no time nor energy to explain
5. I don't trust anyone to do "the job" correctly, so I end up doing EVERYTHING myself. Still a one-man operation."

Siehst Du, und so könnte ich locker ohne alle Monstrosities, Brutalities, Cannibal Corpses usw. leben, weil die meinen Anspruch an Death Metal eben nicht verkörpern. Dazu muss ich das Zitat da oben aus dem Teaser komplett schreiben: DEATH METAL THE WAY IT WAS MEANT TO SOUND: WICKED, DARK, UNHOLY AND EVIL. Für mich ist besonders "dark" und "evil" für Death Metal essenziell. Aber ich stamme ja auch aus einer Zeit, als gewisse Nordeuropäer dann folgerichtig den Anfang 90er Boom als "Life Metal" betitelten. Ich konnte sie verstehen, auch mein Death Metal enstand in den 80ern und Wannes Gubbels (Pentacle) geht ja sogar so weit in seiner Einstellung, dass er meint "bis 1989 war im Death Metal alles gesagt".
Und so freue ich mich also auf eine neue (vollkommen unspektakuläre, aber meine Kriterien erfüllende) Unholy Lust, während mir neues Monstrosity Gedudel irgendwo ganz weit vorbeigeht.

Das hat nichts damit zu tun. Ich feiere genügend Soundgenossen von Unholy Lust. Hatte von denen sogar auch mal zwei LPs, die ich aber verkaufte. Ganz einfach, weil sie mir nicht gefielen, obwohl sie in mein Geschmacksspektrum fallen. Passiert.

Today, Iron Bonehead Productions sets September 21st as the international for Cosmic Void Ritual's highly anticipated debut mini-album, Grotesque Infections of Planetary Divide, on CD and 12" vinyl formats.
The sole work of one Unknown Entity, in its short lifespan, Cosmic Void Ritual has already released three demos, each one as provocatively titled as the next - Gateways Through Septic Flesh, Transcendence Through Galactic Death, and the Iron Bonehead-released Vitriol Tablet Instructions: Rehearsing Speeches For When You Die - as well as a split with Mark Riddick's Fetid Zombie, most recently. Across all those works was a decidedly bizarre yet resolutely raw form of death metal, harkening to short-lived cults of the '90s yet exhibiting a totally terrifying identity all its own. Alas, all coalesces into Cosmic Void Ritual's Grotesque Infections of Planetary Divide.
Once again, Unknown Entity has exercised keen judgment in titling this work Grotesque Infections of Interplanetary Divide: its four songs are indeed grotesque, and most certainly do they impart a cosmic aspect that's as primordial as it is post-futuristic. Utterly raw and rotten, here Cosmic Void Ritual shapeshift all sorts of vulgar shapes, its death metal filth turned inside out as tendrils of lurking dread encase the listener in a cocoon of nameless horror. Just like its evocative cover art, Grotesque Infections of Interplanetary Divide resides within a monochromaticism that's paradoxically visual; the ceaselessly slipstreaming sturm und klang of it all imparts a madness that's seemingly random, but comes into clearer focus the deeper one drowns within the cavern of said cocoon. The question, then, is not simply whether you will eventually emerge but, rather, how.
"Intestinal Rituals," "Interplanetary Seeds," "Cataclysmic Brutality," and especially "Charred Asteroid Fields": these are the four Grotesque Infections of Interplanetary Divide that Cosmic Void Ritual conjures. How will YOU emerge?

Kurzes Update von Jan (Lavadome Productions). ESKHATON CD ist ja nun fertig, alle Bestellungen beim Label sind am Donnerstag raus und sollten dann wohl am Dienstag in deutschen Briefkasten sein. Das neue Album von BEYOND MORTAL DREAMS verzögert sich bis Anfang 2019. In Arbeit sind Alben von HORROR GOD und eigentlich auch CHAOS INCEPTION. Bei letzteren spielt aber auch Matt Barnes (Gitarre), der auch bei MONSTROSITY und deren kommendem Album zu Gange war. Dieses "neue" MONSTROSITY Album wurde "years ago" aufgenommen und nachdem sich nun vollkommen unerwartert doch ein Label erbarmt hat, wird angesichts des Metal Blade Medienrummels + Tour das CHAOS INCEPTION Album wohl noch eine Weile auf Eis liegen bleiben.
Im Gespräch sind Alben von OATH OF DAMNATION (members of BEYOND MORTAL DREAMS und DARKLORD), was mir jetzt auch nicht so viel sagt. Aber was mir etwas sagt und mich freudig stimmt: Lavadome wird sich um die bisher (fast) nur in ihrer Heimat Neuseeland bekannten TZUN TZU kümmern. Zunächst wohl Neuauflagen der selbstfinanzierten Sachen, aber auch ein Plattenvertrag für weitere Großtaten steht im Raum. Ich drücke mal ganz fest die Daumen.
Sehr sicher kommt das neue Album der mir bis dato auch vollkommen unbekannten US-Amerikaner ARA bei Lavadome, nachdem ich bei bandcamp aber mal deren letztes Album von 2014 gehört habe (versucht habe, zu hören), weiß ich, dass ich diesen Tech-Death Müll nicht brauche.

Die EP finde ich absolut großartig, definitiv unter den besten Sachen, die ich letztes Jahr gehört habe. Der neue Song ist ganz klar gut aber weiß mich (noch) nicht zu begeistern. Mal abwarten, wie das ganze Album ist. Bei Taphos war bei mir die große Euphorie mit dem Album auch irgendwie vorbei (obwohl: klasse Live-Show), hoffentlich geht es hier anders.

Dark Descent Records and Me Saco Un Ojo Records have sealed a pact with the UK’s formative doom/death band Decomposed to release the long out-of-print 1992 EP “The Funeral Obsession” along the band’s earlier demos (including an unreleased demo). We’ve been working on this project for a year now and hope to have more details available soon. Expect a 2019 release.
