Im Hause Covenant (bzw. The Kovenant) scheint auch was zu brodeln, denn seit einiger Zeit teast Nagash rum.
Zuletzt grad eben ein Proberaumvideo (betitelt mit What's going on here? 21st of January 2024) vom Beginn von "The Sulphur Feast".

Blackheart ist scheinbar nicht so ganz einverstanden, was da seitens Nagash/Hellhammer läuft. Hier sein Statement:
So i just wanted to release this statement in the light of certain recent announcements being made by "The Kovenant" as people keep asking me about it....i will give this one official statement.
Basically i have imagined the phrase " The Kovenant is back " a million times although i never imagined it would be quite like this. So ...
I was indeed approached recently by Nagash/Lex with the idea of Sverd/Hellhammer wanting to do some more Nexus shows, i was told at least - in Decemeber or so.
My response was that i would consider specific offers or shows, but the extent of what they were suggesting is not something i can commit to, both due to having a full time regular job, mortage etc...and as well as having problems with my hearing the recent years from a pressure damage causing a "sudden deafness syndrom" in 2019...meaning both loss of hearing as well as intonation on one ear. Did not wanna say anything about but there you have it...
But thankfully having the pitch and frequency loss getting to a point where my hearing is normal on a good day or two - I am still very unsure of how much i can do , and have said i have to see how it progressess during the spring and i can`t commit to anything right now although but not categorically not dismissing it either...but its just uncertain for me what my future in music can be for the time being, and that`s just something i have to be honest about and not make any false promises...i think there were enough of those in the past from us, without going into further detail.
I was told it was " everyone in or not at all" and believed that to be true, but i was actually not in touch with anyone exept him, neither the newly apointed booking management or any other "original" nexus line up members which i did not speak to for 15 years prior to this- not even to ask me what my thoughts or opinions are on the matter before going ahead with this thing, well at least it did not matter to them what they were ...so i feel obligated to make this comment and it would be a lie to say i find it easy.
So i can only speculate on what the full extent of the plans and motivations are ...i really do not know, whatever it is i am sure it sounds justified when they say it out aloud to themselves and that they will get what the want from it in the end, whatever the cost , i guess?
But I think as founding member and main songwriter it needed to be said although i hope it can stay dignified and whatever their reasons and justifications are it hopefully all just stems from the common experience and timeless classic that Nexus Polaris , and will remain to be - nothing can change that at least .
For me the band is/was alot more than that...it was something i have lived with since i was 13 years old and i did not image having to make a statement like this one at any point in my life...but well, here it is....
I know the fans that have been wanting this for years, so in the grand scheme of things i am sure it will be somehitng valuable for everyone involved . Go see the shows, or whatever they got planned. Buy the t-shirt, i am sure they will sell them....
As for the Future, i am unsure....it is true that i wrote/finished about 70% of an album called " Aria Galactica" which also leaked in small portions on youtube, but i dont know if it will be possible to release this as the Kovenant in the future - in the light of these recent activities ...this is something i spendt a considerable time and effort on develping by myself and obviously i am not gonna give it away to a band that so casually dismisses me , intentionally or not - that is something i will have to consider for the future.
So this is quite a strange day for me , but i wish everyone the best and hope they got what they wanted from this whole thing , at least.

Nagash teasert weiter bei metal1: „. THE KOVENANT wurde wiederbelebt – und zwar mit den ursprünglichen Mitgliedern von “Nexus Polaris” abgesehen von Psy Coma. Er wird sich uns leider erst einmal nicht anschließen, da er mit einigen persönlichen Problemen zu kämpfen hat. Wir hoffen aber, dass er zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt zu uns stoßen wird. Für ihn wird bis dahin Knut von Arcturus als Gitarrist einspringen. Also werde ich am Gesang und Bass sein, Astennu und Knut an den Gitarren. Sverd an den Keyboards, Sarah an den weiblichen Vocals und Hellhammer am Schlagzeug... Zunächst werden wir Ende des Jahres einige Live-Shows spielen und nächstes Jahr noch mehr. Wir werden das “Nexus Polaris”-Album spielen, aber auch einiges von den anderen Alben. Neues Material ist auch in Arbeit, aber eins nach dem anderen. Wir haben seit über 20 Jahren nicht mehr zusammen gespielt, also nehmen wir die Dinge, wie sie kommen.

Wann bitte waren Vorga denn jemals bei Vendetta ?
Laut Auskunft beim Konzert letztens kann man die per Email oder Facebook anschreiben und Merch sowie CDs/LPs vom kommenden Album wird es dann bei denen auch über die bandeigene Bandcamp-Seite geben sowie bei den darauffolgenden Konzerten.
Und sonst gab es u.a. die CD auch ne zeitlang bei Amazon und dem SM-Metal-Shop.

Ich denke nie, aber die Debüt-EP wurde mal bei Vendetta veröffentlicht.
Wobei ich das Problem mit TO Records nicht ganz verstehe. Kein EU-Distro, ja, aber trotzdem gar nicht so teuer und dazu auch noch sehr zuverlässig.

Nur als Vinyl. Die CD Version wurde fast ein Jahr vorher von der Band selbst veröffentlicht.
Und TO Records hat ein EU Distro bzw. EU Shop. Das wurde von mir und anderen aber auch schon mehrfach hier im Forum erwähnt. Und auf der HP sowie auch über Facebook sind immer die Links zum Hauptshop nach Indien oder auch zum US oder EU Shop.

Läuft gerade. Schade, dass die Ukraine in Schutt und Asche gelegt wird. Die Band hätte es mehr als verdient, außerhalb ihrer Heimat Konzerte zu geben und somit bekannter zu werden.
