Im September hieß es noch sie sind am Aufnehmen. Jetzt heißt es wir suchen einen neuen Sänger. Das ist ziemlich blöd. Das hat ja Geld gekostet die Aufnehmerei. Bin gespannt ob der irgendwann gefundene neue Sänger die Aufnahme abschließen tut.

Geiler Song, wie schon der letzte. Ich habe Jeff gefragt, ob er nicht einfach selbst die Vocals bei Gatekeeper übernehmen will, das Interesse hielt sich aber in Grenzen...

Jeff hat eine neue Solosingle draussen, und es ist schöner Melodic Speed Metal:

Das Riffing ist geil, der Groove erinnert an Blade of Cimmeria. Aber warum auch immer, ich werde mit seinem Gitarrensound einfach nicht warm - stört mich auch auf den Gatekeeper Alben. Das Cover wiederum kann man nur als komplette Frechheit bezeichnen. Aber ja - ich weiss schon, ist doch egal wie es ausschaut, es geht hier ja immer nur um die Musik
Ich verstehe schon, warum er bei Gatekeeper nicht selbst singen will - sowas im Studio einzusingen ist die eine Sache, aber 40 min live Leadgitarre spielen und gut dazu gut singen ist nochmal ganz was anderes.

Ach wäre J. P. doch lieber bei GK geblieben, das was er jetzt am Start hat (Among These Ashes) fängt schon beim Bandnamen an käsig zu sein und ist musikalisch ne mittelschwere Katastrophe, find ich persönlich furchtbar, kann ich mir nicht anhören.

Wehe, er steigt auch bei Traveler aus, dann zieh ich ihm die Ohren lang, wenn ich ihn das nächste mal sehe

We are excited to announce our new singer; Tyler “Tex” Anderson. Hailing from Armstrong, BC, Tex is a talented and exciting vocalist who has performed across Western Canada with his band Odinfist and is a mainstay in the Okanagan metal scene. Without his strong performance, creative lyrical approach and his work ethic, our new album would still be unfinished.



Please join us in welcoming him to GATEKEEPER. We hail from Western Shores!

“Gatekeeper has been one of my favorite bands in the Canadian heavy metal scene for years. When I saw that they were looking for a new singer, I knew I had to throw my hat in the ring and see if I was up to the task. Just getting to audition, screaming my way through some of my favourite tunes was an absolute blast! Then I was chosen as the new singer (for which I am eternally grateful) and it was time to get to work. When I heard the material the boys had been working on for the past couple of years I was blown away, and knew I had to step up my game as a singer and lyricist to match. I am incredibly proud of the hard work we put into this album, and of course the album itself! I can't wait for everyone hear it.”
